It was the next day, as you and Mossguard had arrived really late at night yesterday back to vanaheim, which resulted in the two of you sleeping in for the night.

When you and him had woken up, Mossguard was gone and it left you inside the cave that you resided in on vanaheim for a nice and quiet 'morning'.

You stretched a little bit as you changed into more everyday clothes so that you wouldn't get them dirty throughout the day.

After grabbing a small apple slice and eating it, you stepped outside and onto the small ledge.

It was the evening, which was a complete sign of how you and Mossguard had slept in.

You would've went out to call Mossguard, until you saw a distressed Sentinel roaring, one of the older ones.

Mossguard was one of seven.

You didn't name the other six, as they might not want names, along with how Mossguard was young when he first got his name.

You didn't want to give a much older dragon a name and have their lives a little bit harder than before.

"What's wrong?" You asked, stepping over to the sentinel who almost immediately sniffed you out.

There were 4 female sentinels on the island and the rest were male, this one was female due to being a little bit larger than the other males that were on the island.

Law of nature. Usually the females were much larger than the male version to their species. Mainly in reptiles or insects, though.

She immediately picked you up and set you on her back before taking off in a hurry.

"Whats the matter?" You questioned, a little bit panicked now that you knew something was wrong.

From afar, you could hear a couple distressed dragon roars and then the controlled roars of the sentinels.

Two of the female sentinels seemed to join the other one in flying towards the area, though Mossguard was still nowhere to be seen, along with the other female sentinel and the 2 other males.

Two Grim Gnashers flew out of the forest area in a hurry.

Oh.

It was a weekly occurrence that Grim Gnashers came and attempted to attack the elderly dragons of vanaheim, it wasn't a rare occurrence where they succeeded, though it usually ended up being an extremely old dragon who didn't have much fight left in them either way.

There was about 6 from what you could tell.

The three female sentinels flew overhead.

You could see about 2 Monstrous Nightmares who were being attacked, one being a mix of purple and yellow while the other was a nice sage green.

The variety of colours kept you on your feet when it came to identifying which dragon was which, since you wouldn't want to get it mixed up and then never know which dragon was which dragon.

It could result in quite the problem later on down the line.

Not that you really cared.

You heard a familiar roar, and it was Mossguard.

Mossguard flew under the female sentinel that you were currently on, and you almost immediately jumped off her back and made a nice landing onto his.

You might regret that later if it hurt, but that was fine, since at the moment you had other things to worry about.

Mossguard shrieked at you before stopping a little bit and sending out a gust of wind at the Grim Gnasher's sending one away which left about three more to get off the island.

This should be fun.

The previous three sentinels seemed to fly over to the Monstrous nightmares as all three females roared at them to run along to a different part of the island.

The Grim Gnashers shot teeth at the rocks and tried to hit the elderly dragons who were beginning to leave the scene, if they failed and it either bounced off of things or hit the trees.

The fourth female sentinel flew off with the elderly dragons as the two other males shrieked at the Grim Gnashers to try and intimidate them into leaving but it definitely didn't work like that initially.

Mossguard landed on the forest floor and shrieked at them, beginning to box them in on the corner of the actual clearing since the two other males blew wind in their direction while Mossguard kept them there.

The females were most likely relocating the other elderly dragons to a safer place.

Before you knew it, the Grim Gnashers had flown away out of 'fear' though they'd most likely be back at Vanaheim in a week or two to collect new dragons to begin to torture until they could get their claws on the dragons actual flesh to eat.

"That's not how I wanted my evening to go." You sighed, leaning forward against Mossguard's back with little to no care.

Mossguard roared at you.

The sun was beginning to set too, which wasn't very nice.

you knew you'd fall asleep late today, since you woke up extremely early.

The sentinels had already dispersed to their original posts and where they needed to be, and Mossguard had taken off to get back to his own which was in front of the cave that you and him resided near/in.

Mossguard didn't exactly stay inside the cave, which have you more space to put things like barrels to keep maps, food, and other essentials in.

He landed on the ledge and lowered the back as you hopped off, and he used his sense of smell to nudge your hand when he leaned his back a little bit more downwards.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll get you your fruit." You sighed, crossing your arms as you stepped inside the cave to go find the fruit Mossguard cherished so much.

It was the fruit that grew exclusively on Vanaheim, which wasn't anything bad.

You didn't eat it yourself though, unless you were absolutely starving or feeling curious if your taste buds ended up changing to accommodate for the taste.
