It was extremely late at night, and the sun hadn't even risen yet.You didn't end up getting any sort of sleep since you weren't exactly tired today, and Mossguard seemingly got enough rest he needed for one day.
You didn't exactly know if the sentinels actually required some type of sleep schedule, since they remained in statue-like positions for the entire day to the point where it seemed like they were sleeping half the time.
Couldn't blame the blind dragons for getting around a little bit when it came to their day.
They had to take care of an entire island with dragons, wildlife and other things on it.
It smelt of some type of fire, which was usual in the mornings of Vanaheim.
It was something you never really attempted to investigate too much, not that you wanted to uncover the genuine idea of why it always smelt of some type of smoke.
You were on Mossguard's back and patrolling around the outskirts of the actual island, so mainly the waters of Vanaheim.
Since it was still dark out, you couldn't see too too well, while it didn't matter to Mossguard since he couldn't see either way.
The perks of being a blind dragon, you guessed.
"I wonder if we'll find anything other than eels today." You sighed, leaning back on his back as you simply listened to the sound of wings flapping.
Mossguard's wings were heavy and always made some type of noise which you found extremely comforting almost, since it was a familiar sound that you didn't mind.
It reminded you that you had him and the other sentinels by your side and no longer Berk.
You wondered how they were doing after all these years, not that you cared a lot for it, though it was fine in your eyes.
Berk didn't require your attention, and despite it being your birthplace, Vanaheim was your home and probably the place where you'd reside permanently unless something really bad happened to the resting place of the dragons.
Or if the dragons had to relocate themselves any day.
Mossguard roared as he flew through the night, keeping his rocky body close to the water as the boulder class dragon didn't really fly too high when on patrols in case his sense of smell wouldn't pick anything that was near the water up.
You sat up on his back once again and crossing your arms as you looked around the sky.
There was nothing to see.
You looked around a second time, taking a few glances at the scenery around Vanaheim along with the water, etc.
It was a very pretty sight to take in, and one that you wouldn't miss for the world.
You loved your home, and the occupation you now had with the dragons, helping them keep the natural process going and preventing any human sources interfering with what was going on in Vanaheim.
The sentinels were thankful for it, and even some of the elderly dragons who had some type of run-ins with Vikings and dragon hunters alike in their younger years before Vanaheim.
You were about to go back to laying against your dragon, before spotting torches and the sound of dragon hunters shouting.
"See that?" You asked, but you gained an extremely annoyed roar from Mossguard.
You forgot that he was entirely blind.
"You get what I mean." You said as you rolled your eyes, before looking to the dragon hunters who were on a singular boat.
They had catapults with netting on it and one catapult with a larger boulder, along with arrows that were laced with dragon root.
They definitely spotted both you and Mossguard.
You pulled your hood up a little, and leaned downwards to reduce drag for Mossguard.
You spotted a net right up in the air coming directly at the both of you.
"Move!" You warned him, quickly grabbing ahold of one of the more jagged rocks you were able to get a good grip on.
Mossguard heeded the warning and immediately moved to the left causing the dragon hunters to boo themselves.
"It's a sentinel!" One of the hunters yelled.
"And a rogue dragon rider!" Another shouted, a net being sent at Mossguard again.
"Mossguard, keep yourself far from the nets!" You told the dragon.
The net barely missed his tail when he accelerated into a completely different direction before stopping to hover in the air.
"We're close to Vanaheim!" The several dragon hunters observed.
Sentinels were strongly associated with Vanaheim, and it was rare to find them anywhere else.
It was almost impossible, actually. Unless you were an extremely good explorer, or just had some type of extremely stupid luck.
"We have to get on that boat!" You told Mossguard, and he immediately acted.
Mossguard completely avoided the boulder being sent at him, using his natural fight or flight sense when it came to adrenaline.
He then stopped and stretched his wings out all the way to pull back and create a strong Gust of wind which sent the dragon hunters into the water.
Save for four of them.
One had been managing the distribution of the nets while the other three had been holding the dragon root arrows.
Mossguard landed on the boat, and you immediately got off of his back to look at the actual boat.
Mossguard raised his wings with the neon green accents along it, threatening another wingblast which got the four hunters into one area out of nervousness.
"Who do you work for? Or are you guys alone?" You asked, crossing your arms as your eyes narrowed.
"We'd never tell a dragon rider like you." One of the hunters said, eyes narrowing.
"Wanna tell my dragon then?" You asked, Lifting an eyebrow and pointing to Mossguard who leaned in close to growl and get familiar with the scents.
"Krogan!" The smaller hunter said.
"Who?"
Before anything else could be said, Mossguard seemingly let it go and gave another wingblast.
You grabbed the post extremely quickly while the four hunters couldn't and they were sent flying.
"Come on! I was having an interrogation moment!" You said and rolled your eyes.
Mossguard gave out a bellowing sound, to mock you for such a thing.
