Amelia is 8yo
Chapter 1: The Reluctant Farewell
Billie Eilish stood in the doorway of her dressing room, a knot of anxiety tightening in her stomach as she glanced at her watch. Five minutes until showtime. She could hear the faint murmur of the crowd outside, the anticipation building with each passing second. But all she could think about was her daughter, Amelia, who clung to her with a vice-like grip, her tear-streaked face buried in Billie's chest.
"M-Mommy...no go," Amelia whimpered, her words muffled by the pacifier clenched between her teeth. She held onto her stuffed toy, Milo, with all her might, her tiny fingers tangled in his soft fur.
Billie's heart broke at the sight of her daughter's distress. She had hoped that this tour would be easier on Amelia, that she would eventually grow accustomed to the separations. But it seemed that each goodbye was harder than the last.
"I have to, sweetheart," Billie said softly, her voice trembling with emotion. She brushed a strand of hair away from Amelia's face, her heart aching at the sight of her daughter's tear-stained cheeks.
"N-no, Miwo! Miwo!" Amelia cried out, her words barely intelligible as she struggled to form coherent sentences.
Billie felt a lump form in her throat as she tried to soothe her daughter's fears. She longed to stay with her, to hold her close and never let her go. But duty called, and she couldn't let her fans down.
"Mommy will be back soon, I promise," Billie whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. She gently pried Amelia's fingers from her hoodie, trying to ease her grip without causing her any more distress.
But Amelia clung to her tighter, her cries growing louder with each passing moment. Billie felt her own tears welling up as she held her daughter close, feeling utterly torn between her career and her family.
"I-I don't want...Mommy go!" Amelia sobbed, her words barely audible around the pacifier in her mouth.
Billie's heart shattered into a million pieces at her daughter's words. She wished she could stay with her forever, to shield her from the pain of their separation. But she knew that she had a responsibility to her fans, to the thousands of people waiting for her performance.
"I love you, Amelia. I'll be back before you know it," Billie whispered, pressing a kiss to her daughter's forehead before reluctantly pulling away.
As she made her way towards the stage, Billie could still hear Amelia's cries echoing in her ears, the sound haunting her every step. She felt a pang of guilt gnawing at her insides, wondering if she was doing the right thing by pursuing her career at the expense of her daughter's happiness.
But as the first notes of her song filled the air, Billie pushed aside her doubts and fears, focusing all her energy on delivering the performance of a lifetime. For now, she had to bury her own pain and pour her heart and soul into her music, hoping that one day, Amelia would understand.
Chapter 1: Part 2 - A Heartbreaking Moment
As Billie stepped onto the stage, the roar of the crowd engulfed her, drowning out the sound of her own thoughts. The familiar rush of adrenaline coursed through her veins, momentarily pushing aside the guilt and sadness that had weighed her down backstage.
Meanwhile, in the green room, chaos reigned as Amelia's cries echoed off the walls, her small frame shaking with each sob. Despite her grandparents' best efforts to comfort her, she clung to Milo with all her might, the pacifier still firmly clenched between her teeth.
"M-Mommy! Mommy!" Amelia wailed, her voice raw with emotion as she reached out for Billie, her tiny hands trembling.
Maggie and Patrick exchanged worried glances as they tried to soothe their distraught granddaughter. Patrick gently patted Amelia's back, his heart breaking at the sight of her tears.
