Flashback (Going to my father's house)

I did not want to go there but I was left with no choice. I had to get some very important documents for my hospital and I'm a fool for leaving them there.

I sat in the car with Haresh Kaka as I departed to go to my father's house. I looked outside as the car moved in speed leaving the trees behind.

'If you want, I can send somebody there to get your stuff' 'Do you want me to come with you?'

These words rang in my brain as I clutched on my bag. Him showing care even though I knew it was fake but still, my heart calmed.

My heart seeks shelter in his comforting words. And I hate myself for that. For feeling that way.

In no time, I was outside my father's house and my heart was beating wildly. I pushed the door of the car and stood in front of the gate.

I took a deep breath clutching onto my bag in death grip. I rang the bell and after a few minutes gate flew open.

Manisha Aunty came to view. My eyes suddenly welled in tears and she hugged me in an instant.

"Mera baccha. How are you meri bacchi?" She whispered as she rubbed my back. I sniffed and held her tight.

"I'm good. How are you? Are they worrying you? Are you okay?" I pulled back examining her face.

"I'm perfectly alright. He eats with you nah? You don't eat alone right?" She asked and I decided not to tell her the truth instead I nodded with a smile.

"Aunty, ap jao andr. I have to take some files and then I'll leave" I told her.

"I won't ask you to stay mera baccha." She kissed the knuckle of my hands and moved and went inside.

'Shreya, you can do this.' I reminded myself and pushed the door of the main entrance. I entered and it felt foreign like always.

There was no one in my sight and I moved towards my room.

"What are you doing here?" A voice halted my actions and I turned to see my mother. A normal kid would have run to her mother for a hug but here she was throwing her suspicious vision on me as if I were a thief.

"I'm here to get some of my documents." Short and crisp answer. Without bothering for her reply I moved to my room.

The moment I entered in it, I instantly locked it. I huffed a breath out and sat with the hold of the door.
