After spending the entire day with Hee-Won and my father, we finally arrived at Jungkook's home. I had wanted to stay longer, to linger in the warmth of my father's presence, but I knew better. If I stayed any later, I would risk running into Eun-Jun, and that was the last thing I wanted

So yeah, before he could return, we left

"The weather outside is nice, isn't it?"

Jungkook's voice was soft yet clear against the gentle hush of the night. Standing beside me on the balcony of his room, he leaned against the railing, gazing out at the quiet world beyond

I closed my eyes, allowing the cool air to brush against my skin. There was something about nights like these, where the world seemed softer, more forgiving

"Hmm" I hummed in response, feeling the night embrace me like an old friend. The cloudy sky with refreshing breeze was always my fault

"Let's go to the garden" I suggested, cracking open eyes to glance at him

Jungkook looked at me, as if weighing my words for a moment, before giving a small nod "Sure, let's go"

The garden was different at night. The air felt richer, the scent of damp earth and freshly cut grass wrapping around us. The leaves rustled softly as a breeze passed through, carrying the distant scent of roses

Roses

My eyes drifted toward the neatly arranged bushes, where velvet petals swaying under the slight moonlight

Suddenly a memory stirred in my mind "These are the roses you planted in memory of your ex, right?"

—JUNGKOOK POV

I stilled at her words, my gaze flickering from her face to the roses. The same roses she had plucked on the second day of our marriage

I exhaled sharply, nodding

"Now don't make fun of me" I warned, anticipating her teasing

But instead of a laugh, she tilted her head slightly "You still love her, don't you?"

I followed her as she walked toward the bushes, her fingers ghosting over the delicate petals

"I surely loved her back then" I admitted, my voice steady "But now, I hate her with my whole heart"

Y/N turned to me, confusion flickering in her eyes. I knew what she was thinking... 'why would I plant flowers in someone's memory if I hated them?'

I stepped closer, my voice dropping "These roses... they aren't normal"

Her eyebrows furrowed

"I bought these seeds from a black magician. She cast a curse on them, so that my ex would never find happiness in love again. That she would regret her entire existence"

For a moment, there was silence, but then.... laughter

Soft at first, then bubbling into a full, unrestrained giggle

I stared at her, bewildered "What?" I asked, watching as she plucked a rose and held it up to my face, amusement dancing in her eyes

"You really think... this rose has the power to do all that?" she teased

But I frowned "Why wouldn't it? It worked perfectly fine, didn't it? She never succeeded in any relationship after me"

Y/N's lips curled into a knowing smirk "That's because she's a whore, Jungkook"

I blinked, staring at her in amusement

"She never stayed with one man. She played with them, used them for their money, their affection, before tossing them aside... Just like she did to you"
