Days were passing quickly, everything seemed to fall into place without issues or disruptions. It finally felt like my life had decided to calm down

Coming back from school, I walked into the apartment. Jungkook was sitting on the couch, yes he's staying here, after that incident, he had decided to start staying with me instead

I dropped my bag on floor near the couch and moved to sit beside him "Oh, hey! You're home already?" he asked, surprised "Why? Were you expecting me not to come?" I raised an eyebrow "No, it's not that," he laughed nervously "I thought you'd be a little late since you said you had to go to the library" I nodded "I finished my work earlier than expected" I shrugged, leaning against the couch when he nodded

As I was resting my attention fell to the book in his hands, my frown deepened as I was curious about what he's reading with so concentrate "I never saw you reading books before" "Yeah, I usually don't! But this one is special" "Special? What's it about?" "Demons," he replied nonchalantly

The word demon made my eyes widen. I snatched the book from his hands, scanning its pages. It looked ancient, with its brown, vintage texture. But I didn't need to read much as I recognized it immediately

This book wasn't ordinary, it was written by a poet soul from the Devil World nearly 500 years ago. It documented everything about our world, its secrets, its spells. But how did it end up on Earth?

I remember hearing a story that during a war between the King and a rebellious prince around 460 years ago, almost destroying the Devil world, the book had been lost in that war, most assumed it was destroyed, but here it was, intact, only the color faded, making it look brownish. But the question is how had it survived this long?

"What? Why are you reacting like this?" Jungkook's voice pulled me out of my thoughts, he was looking at me, puzzled
"Who gave you this?" I asked, not caring if I sounded rude

"My friend.... He said it's real, and he even claimed to have seen a devil. I didn't believe him, so he suggested I read it myself"

I closed the book and tossed it onto the coffee table "And you're not reading it" "Why not? It's not like a demon will come after me if I read those spells," he laughed but my expression remained serious. "I said, you're not reading it so YOU.ARE.NOT!" "Okay, okay, little boss. I won't" he teased, raising his hands in surrender "You better not!"

—JUNGKOOK POV

As midnight approached, my curiosity about the book grew stronger, I was already curious and her mysterious behavior regarding it only fueled my desire to understand it's secrets

Lying beside her, I gently patted her back, hoping to lull her to sleep like babies "You're acting weird" she mumbled with a frown "Me? Weird? No, not at all" I chuckled nervously "Sleep already, You've got school tomorrow, remember?" She gave me a suspicious look but eventually closed her eyes

Once I was certain she was asleep, I carefully slipped out of bed, tucked her in the blanket and made my way to the living room

Grabbing the book from the coffee table, I opened it, the pages were filled with detailed accounts of demons how they lived among us, their connection to humanity, and even their rituals "This book seems just fine, why was she reacting like that?" I shrugged my shoulders and started to reading

'Demon—the name itself gives us chills and makes us think they are bad or evil. But in reality, they are our friends. They were created to punish the cruel in order to maintain peace on both Earth and Heaven.

They appear just like normal people, in fact, they are! They live among us, blending into our world. Perhaps one of your neighbors, family members, or close friends could be one of them.
