Chapter Thirteen

                    School finally reopened today. I didn't want to admit it, but I actually enjoyed the last few days of winter break. Jungkook had taken me to places I had never been before, making me experience moments I hadn't even realized I was missing

He even went to my house to apologize to my father

Moved by his genuine remorse, my father accepted his apology and requested him to take care of me. Despite that, I still couldn't bring myself to forgive Jungkook completely

But I was trying...

He also attempted to take legal action regarding the incident but hesitated. His father's strange behavior in recent days, combined with concerns about the family's reputation and the company's image, made him hold back. I didn't say anything about it either, because his trust was enough, and I knew exactly what I was doing, and what authorities would do if they were handling it

                    At school, as I walked down the hallway, I noticed Rowan, my classmate and fellow demon, leaning against my locker

I scoffed, already knowing he was waiting for me, so without saying anything, I approached him and stood with a blank expression

"Oh! You're here?" he said, feigning surprise at seeing me in front of my own locker

"What is it, Rowan?" I asked

"Oh, come on! At least say hi or hello. Why are you always so cold and straightforward?"

I rolled my eyes, turning to walk away, but his next words stopped me in my tracks

"Well, I heard you and your human husband are madly in love now!"

"And? Why does that bother you so much?"

He shook his head, his grin as cocky as ever "It doesn't bother me at all. I'm just saying... perhaps you've forgotten your curse?"

I glared at him "I know my curse well, and I won't let it affect him"

"Oh really? You couldn't save your dear parents from the curse, but now you think you can save your husband?" He tilted his head mockingly

"It's different. I couldn't save them because I was young. But now, I can"

He chuckled "Well, best of luck then... I guess" he said with a smirk

Scoffing, I turned to leave again

"Why the hurry?" he called after me

"I don't have time to waste on you!"

"Ouch! That hurts you know?" he said, grabbing my shoulder to stop me but I slapped his hand away and crossed my arms

"What is it now?" I asked, annoyed

"You know, what I was actually thinking... you were supposed to marry me, but instead, you married that human... We're prince and princess of the Demon World after all, it was destiny for us to be together. But suddenly, that human came along and ruined everything by marrying you out of nowhere. Like, seriously?"

"Yes, we were destined to be together" I said firmly "but I changed it. I changed my fate, and trust me, I DON'T regret it. Marrying Jungkook was far better than being with you."

"Why, though? Do you hate me that much?"

"More than you can imagine"

He chuckled again "Really? Well, then let's see how you save your husband from your curse, and how long this little marriage of yours lasts" He smirked one last time before walking away "See you later in hell, Princess"
