— JUNGKOOK POV

I trudged downstairs to the dining room, rubbing my temples in an attempt to ease the dull ache in my head. Sleep had evaded me last night, leaving me restless and irritable

I had a nightmare last night, and it was... horrible

Y/N's apartment had been engulfed in flames. She had screamed for me, her voice raw with desperation, but... I couldn't reach her. No matter how hard I tried, something kept me frozen, forcing me to watch as she burned alive, her agonized cries slicing through me like a knife

The memory alone sent chills down my spine. I kept telling myself it was just a dream. A nightmare. Nothing more...

But why did it feel so real?

"Hyung?"

I blinked, snapping out of my thoughts at the sound, to find Ji-Yeong sitting across from me, his expression hesitant

"Hmm?" I hummed, taking another bite of my breakfast

"I need to talk to you after breakfast" he said, his voice uncertain

I frowned, noticing the nervous energy surrounding him, but shrugged it off, nodding "Alright"

As requested, I followed Ji-Yeong to his room, and sat on the bed, waiting for him to speak

"Hyung... it's about Y/N"

I tensed at her name but calmly gestured for him to continue

"I heard she's staying in your penthouse... but she doesn't have a phone or any way to contact people?"

I nodded "Yeah. So?"

"She and I had an assignment to complete over winter break. We were working on it together... but then suddenly she disappeared. I mean, I haven't heard from her since yesterday. I had tried messaging her multiple times, but there's no response"

I stared at him blankly "Maybe she's just not in the mood"

"But she was serious about the project! I'm worried something bad might have happened"

His words made something shift in my chest, but I forced myself to stay calm. Glaring at him for even suggesting something could be wrong

"I'll check on her later" I said, standing up and heading to my room to get ready

I stood outside the apartment door, hesitating

Should I go in?

The uneasy feeling from this morning still lingered, but I brushed it aside and punched in the security code. The lock beeped, and the door clicked open

Stepping inside, I expected to find Y/N in the kitchen, eating or watching TV. But the penthouse was eerily silent. The kitchen was empty. The living room, too

A strange unease settled in my stomach

I slowly walked toward the bedroom, pushing the door open slightly. The room was dark. Y/N lay on the bed, the blanket pulled over her head

"Y/N?" I called softly, stepping closer "Are you okay?"

She didn't respond

I sat beside her, gently pulling the blanket down. Her hair was a mess, her skin pale, and she looked... unwell

"Hey?" I whispered, shaking her shoulder lightly, in response she murmured softly, barely opening her eyes

I exhaled, relieved to see her awake "Are you okay? What happened?" I asked, trying to remove the black from her face, but he clutched the blanket tightly, her grip almost desperate
