"D-doctor, how is my wife? I-is she okay?" the middle-aged man, Mr. Lee, asked desperately, rushing toward the doctor as soon as he stepped out of the operation room
The doctor hesitated, his expression grave. Mr. Lee noticed that look and for a second he felt his heart sink, but still he clung to hope "Doctor, please tell me. How's my wife? Is she okay? And... what about the baby?" he asked, his voice trembling
Seeing Mr. Lee, the doctor sighed, his voice calm as he put a comforting hand on Mr. Lee's shoulder "Mr. Lee, please try to be strong" "What are you saying Doctor? I'm asking how's my wife and child, please tell me they're fine" his voice desperate "Your daughter is absolutely fine, Mr. Lee" doctor said gently
Mr. Lee felt a flicker of relief, but the tension in his chest remained "And my wife...?" he whispered, when the doctor lowered his gaze "I'm sorry, Mr. Lee... We tried our best to save her, but..."
As the words left his mouth, Mr. Lee felt his world shattered completely, his legs gave way immediately and he fell on his knees. The twins standing beside him gasped, unable to express anything
The doctor once again placed a comforting hand on his shoulder as he spoke quietly "I'm so sorry for your loss, Mr. Lee... But please, try to stay strong... You now have not two but three children to take care for" the doctor comforted patting his shoulder and left after a while, giving the family a pitying glance
The corridor fell into an oppressive silence, Mr. Lee kept kneeling on the cold floor, paralyzed by the grief he wasn't ready for, while the twins stood frozen, unable to console their father... or themselves
Soon the stillness was broken by the creak of the operation room door as a nurse stepped out, holding the newborn baby wrapped in soft towels "Mr. Lee?" she called softly, when he looked up, slowly getting up to walk near the nurse
The nurse handed him the baby, her tiny, reddened face peeking out from the towel, and for the first time since the news of his wife, a faint smile touched his lips, he hold his daughter closer to him "Lee Y/N" he murmured, his voice filled with tenderness as he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead "My beautiful daughter"
"Appa? I-is eomma... is it because of... the baby?" Eun-jun, the youngest twin stammered, his teary eyes wide with fear as he stared at his father solely "What are you saying, Jun?" The older twin, Eun-ha exclaimed, her voice trembling with disbelief as she looked at her brother with an unreadable expression
"Then why did mom leave us as soon as she was born?" Eun-jun cried silently, his voice cracked with anger "She's a monster! She took our eomma away!"
"Eun-jun!" Mr. Lee snapped, but his son already turned and stormed away from them, he sighed heavily, looking at his oldest daughter, who seemed to have some battle of conflicted feelings going inside her as she kept staring at the baby in her father's arms the whole time
Mr. Lee again gazed down at the newborn in his arms, his smile small but soft "Don't worry, my little Y/N" he whispered "Your oppa is just emotional right now... he said those because he's angry, but don't worry, when he'll realise, he'll love you a lot, hmm?"

"Why is everything falling apart in the company?" Mr. Lee muttered, flipping through a stack of financial reports in the living room. Frustration consumed him as he leaned back against the couch, running a hand through his hair
"I've already told you, everything bad started happening after that little girl's birth" Eun-jun said with no hesitation as he walked into the room "Doesn't that prove she's unlucky? At least for us?" He continued sitting next to his father but Mr. Lee frowned
