As morning approached, I woke up and the first thought came in my mind was 'I need to meet oppa today'

The weight of it sat heavy on my chest. This wasn't just a casual meeting. This wasn't just a conversation. This was me standing at the edge of a fragile bridge, hoping Eun-Jun wouldn't burn it before I even got the chance to cross

I sighed deeply, steeling myself before slipping into my school uniform to avoid suspicion from Jungkook. Though I already knew he had read my message last night, but for now I wouldn't let him know that I knew

Stepping out of the closet, I found Jungkook just waking up, his hair was a mess, his eyes still heavy with sleep, he looked so... soft. So soft, like some adorable little boy

"Good morning" I greeted, forcing a small smile to appear as normal as I can

He blinked at me, his voice husky from sleep "Mmm... morning" he greeted back, his gaze settled on my uniform "Going to school?"

I met his gaze head-on. Refusing to show my nerves, I nodded with a casual smile

For a moment, he just looked at me. I could feel his thoughts racing, the feeling of doubt creeping into his mind 'What are you hiding, Y/N? Don't you trust me enough to share it with me?' But he didn't say it

"Go freshen up" I said quickly, hoping to divert his attention "I'll make us a quick breakfast"

With a slow nod, he got up and walked past me toward the bathroom, his presence lingering even after he was gone

I exhaled shakily, pressing a hand against my chest to calm my nervousness 'Stay calm, Y/N. Stay in control'

With that I quickly walked to the kitchen and made breakfast, just something simple to avoid suspicion. Jungkook joined me at the table, eating quietly, his eyes flickering toward me now and then. It was obvious he had a lot on his mind, but I pretended not to notice

After breakfast, I grabbed my bag and left the house

'It's Time to face Eun-Jun'

I took a deep breath stepping into the tall building, my fingers tightening around the strap of my bag. The air inside was cold, sterile, nothing like before. I knew this place well, I had been here many times since it was our family business, but today, everything seemed different.... unfamiliar

As I walked in, the receptionist glanced up, her lips curling into a polite smile as she recognized me

"Hello, Miss Lee" she greeted with a small bow "Hello" I greeted back, returning the smile with a small smile "I want to meet oppa. Is he free?" "Yes, Miss Lee. Mr. Eun-Jun is free"

I nodded, giving her a final smile, I walked toward the elevator

Once into the elevator I pressed the button for the ninth floor and watched the doors close

The elevator ride felt longer than it should have. With every passing floor, the nerves coiled tighter in my stomach

When the doors finally slid open, I stepped out, my eyes immediately landing on the glass office at the end of the hall. Eun-Jun was there, standing by his desk, his back turned to me as he stared out the window

Taking a deep breath, I pushed the door open, but he didn't turn. Didn't even flinch. Like he already knew it was me

"What do you want?" he asked, his voice calm, controlled. Too controlled, but I knew better. Now, I understood him more than he understood himself
