The whole group was over at Everglen hanging out and catching up with one another.

It wasn't uncommon for the friends to do so, meeting up nearly once a week.

Although they had all graduated a few years ago, they never lost their friendships and stayed a tight knit group.

Everyone was currently making themselves comfortable in the living room at Everglen, playing board games and laughing like old times. Sophie had introduced the elves to the idea of board games and it had quickly become one of their favorite things.

"You owe me 140 dollars!" Biana announced proudly, putting her hand out to Fitz who groaned in annoyance.

"Stop doing that." He whined.

"Maybe you should stop landing on my houses." She retorted, pocketing the fake money.

Fitz narrowed his eyes at her and she smirked in response.

"Sophie your turn!" Biana said.

Sophie sat up from where she had been leaning back on the couch, Keefe scooting over a little so she could reach the board better.

After rolling she landed on one of Keefe's properties, making the blonde boy smirk.

"That'll be 300."

"Meanie."

"Hey, it's just the rule of the game." He leaned in and whispered only to her. "I might be able to negotiate for something in return." A mischevious glimmer in his eye made her face go red.

"Hey! Stop the flirting over there! Save it for your house." Tam groaned.

Sophie got even more red, handing Keefe the 300 dollars.

"Your turn Keefe."

The group continued to go around the circle, taking turns.

Keefe's arm naturally gravitated to Sophie's waist, draping loosely around her.

When he touched her he immediately was filled with a sense of discomfort and a sharp stomach pain.

He winced, pulling back.

Sophie glanced over at him in confusion. In response he tapped the side of his temple indicating for her to enter his mind to talk telepathically.

"Are you okay Foster?"

"Yeah I just have bad cramps today."

"Uhh no duh. I could tell."

Her eyes widened. "You could feel it? Sorry I forgot to put my wall up."

"What? No I don't care about the wall. Do you wanna go home?"

"No it's okay, everyone is having fun." She replied, a tight smile on her face.

"Soph you're in pain."

"It's not serious."

"I felt it, Foster, don't lie to me."

She just shook her head, ending the conversation as she took her turn to roll the dice.

Keefe frowned, but took his turn next.

A few minutes later he felt another sharp pain in his abdomen but this time he wasn't even touching her.

One glance over at Sophie showed her jaw clenched and a grimace painted on her beautiful face.

Alright, that's it. Keefe decided.

"Hey I think we're gonna head out. I've got some stuff to work on for the council meeting tomorrow and i'm a little behind on it." Keefe announced to the group.

"Keefe-" Sophie started but stopped her sentence, sighing in defeat.

"Ok, see yall next week!" Biana said, hugging Sophie goodbye.

Everyone said their goodbyes before Sophie and Keefe stepped into the light of their leaping crystal to RiverCrest, their home.

"You didn't have to do that." Sophie murmured as they walked into their house.

"It's fine Soph. Stop being stubborn." Keefe replied, wincing when his wife turned around and gave him a pointed look at the later comment.

A strong wave of nausea radiated from her as they walked towards the living room and she groaned, leaning on the wall closest to her.

"Hey, hey, come here." He coaxed, bringing her hands up to his shoulders as he supported her weight, ignoring the intense nausea he felt from the touch. He knew that she felt it way worse.

A couple deep breaths later it subsided for a moment and she relaxed.

"Let's go to the couch, i'll bring you some tea and medicine." He offered, guiding her to their very comfortable couch.

Once Sophie was settled in the cushions, he retreated to the kitchen to prepare some of her favorite tea and grabbed a pain elixir on his way back.

Keefe found her curled up in a ball on the couch. In any other scenario he would have poked fun at her odd choice but he refrained today.

"Soph, here." He said, sitting beside her.

She unfolded herself and sat up, gazing at him in appreciation. "Thank you, Keefe. You didn't have to do that."

She uncorked the elixir and drank it quickly, wincing at the bitter taste before washing it down with tea.

"Whatdya wanna watch?" Keefe asked, switching on the TV.

"Hmm. Ooh! The Hunger Games!" She suggested, watching as Keefe turned on the second Hunger Games movie (her favorite). She smiled broadly at that.

He scooted into the couch so that his back was in the corner of the sectional.

Sophie sat her tea down on the table, before laying down on top of him.

A little spark of joy filled him. They had been together for years but Keefe still got excited about cuddling with her. It was just so comforting.

He wrapped his arms around her, glad that her pain seemed to be more subdued now.

Gently, he slipped his hand under her shirt, rubbing circles on her back as she watched the movie intently.

"You treat me too well." She murmured, her eyes beginning to flutter with sleepiness.

"No I treat you how you deserve to be treated. I still wake up everyday and can't believe you married an idiot like me." Keefe replied, half joking but also partially very serious.

Her lips twitched up at that. "You're my idiot."

"Hey! You're supposed to tell me that I'm actually the coolest guy you know and you wouldn't trade me for the world." He teased.

Sophie lifted her head enough that she could look him in the eye. "You are actually the coolest guy I know, just a little dorky sometimes. But thats why I love you."

"Don't get sappy on me Foster." Keefe said, the right side of his mouth quirking up in a smile.

"You love it, don't lie." She murmured again, putting her head back down over his heart, drifting off into a light sleep.

"I do." Keefe whispered, more to himself than anything, stroking her hair as he got more comfortable, and closed his eyes. "I wouldn't trade it for the world."
