"Sophie we can leave at like 11 okay?" Fitz reasoned.

"I don't want to go Fitz. I don't like parties and I don't want to hangout with your friends." She groaned, flopping back on her bed.

"They all think I have a loser girlfriend who just stays home and never hangs out with anyone. Right now you're proving them right." He retorted.

"Hey! I hang out with people. MY friends. I don't want to hangout with all your gross guy friends in some gross house where everyone is trashed." She argued.

"Do you even care about me?"

"What? Fitz of course-"

"You sure as hell aren't acting like it. I think I should go." Fitz said, starting to get up and put on his shoes.

"Okay! Okay, i'll go. Just calm down." She conceded, sighing.

"Good. I'll pick you up at 9." He said, leaving.

"At least try and act like you want to be here." Fitz sighed, frowning down at Sophie who was sipping on a beer that was far too bitter for her liking.

She pasted on an exaggerated fake smile and showed him. "How's this?"

He just rolled his eyes and took his turn at beer pong.

"Fuck!" He cursed when he missed both attempts.

His best friend Keefe who was on the other side of the table landed his in Fitz's last cup, winning the round.

"Hey you snooze you loose man." Keefe shrugged.

Fitz just narrowed his eyes at him and chugged the contents of the cup.

Then he flopped down onto the couch beside Sophie, handing her his empty cup. "Fill it up will you?"

Exasperation filled her but she pasted her fake smile back on and took the cup, standing to go to the kitchen.

As she filled the cup, a hand slipped around her waist and a person stood close to her.

"Hey gorgeous." A guy said in her ear.

She jumped, scooting away. "Excuse me?"

She turned to find a clearly drunk guy with lidded eyes and a smirk. "I said you're gorgeous. Now are you gonna come upstairs with me or what?"

"What? Are you serious?" Sophie retorted, backing away again.

He followed her steps, cornering her between himself and the counter.

"Come onnn at least a kiss." He said, a hand roaming from her waist and moving down.

"Get your hands off of me jerk!" She said, pushing him away but she was significantly smaller than him.

"You know you want to." He said, leaning in to whisper in her ear.

"Please, I really do not want to. Please get off!" She pleaded, pushing harder but he didn't budge.

His nose brushed her neck and she flinched, trying to lean away.

"Hey asshole! What do you think you're doing?" A familiar voice said from behind the guy.

"We're busy here, what does it look like-" The guy started to reply before he was dragged off of Sophie by force.

She visibly sighed in relief, leaning against the counter.

Before her was Keefe, shoving the guy up against the wall. "What do you think you're doing huh?"

"Chill out bro we we're just messing around. She wanted it."

"You know man, it really didn't sound that way." Keefe replied. "So how about you go find somewhere else to be."

"Alright alright, just chill. I'm going." The guy answered.

Keefe let go of him and he drunkenly stumbled out of the kitchen, leaving just the two of them.

She exhaled sharply.

"You okay Foster?"

"Uh y-yeah I think so. Thanks, for that." She said, grabbing the cups of beer that had been abandoned on the counter. "I better bring this to Fitz, he's probably wondering what took me so long."

Keefe opened his mouth as if he were going to say something but then closed it, just nodding and moving aside so that she could go back to the living room filled with random guys.

"Why did that take so long?" Fitz grumbled, accepting the cup as she offered it to him.

"I just had a little run in with someone." She murmured.

"Yeah this guy was all over her." Keefe chimed in. "I scared him off. He shouldn't try anything again."

"All over you huh? It's probably because you're dressed like a whore." He slurred drunkenly, taking a big swig from his drink.

Sophie stared at him for a second, shocked, before looking down at her clothing.

She was just wearing a tanktop and jeans with some sneakers, probably more clothed than any one else at this party.

"I-I like these clothes." She mumbled, embarrassed.

"Yeah I bet you like it when random guys are all over you too. I bet that's why you didn't want to come to this party with me, because you knew you would cheat on me." He rambled.

"Fitz I didn't cheat on you, he-"

"I don't wanna hear it." He snapped.

"Fitz you know I would never-"

"Shut up!" He yelled. A cold wave washed over Sophie and it took her a few moments to realize he had thrown his drink at her.

She sat there for a minute, in disbelief, beer dripping down her face.

The room had gone quiet, all the side chatter coming to a halt.

Silently, she stood up, leaving her drink on the table and walked out the front door.

She only made it a few steps from the house before she heard someone following behind her.

Looking forward she kept walking, unsure of where but just knowing she had to get away from that house. "Leave me alone Fitz." She yelled.

"It's me, Keefe." The boy said behind her, jogging to catch up.

"What do you want?" She choked out, turning to face him. She thought beer had been dripping down her face still but she realized there were tears falling too.

"I know it doesn't mean anything coming from me, but im sorry. He can be an ass."

Sophie laughed humorlessly. "Oh yeah, I know."

"I don't know how you date him to be honest." Keefe replied, his ice blue eyes staring into her brown ones intently.

"Like you can talk. You're his best friend."

He winced. "Yeah but he wasn't always like this. And I don't like the ways he's changed. But at the end of the day he's still my friend."

"That's what I tell myself about him." She murmured, looking away.

"Just come with me okay? You can crash at my place, I live a couple houses down. Just cool off."

She looked down at beer soaked clothes. "I don't have anything to change into."

"It's fine you can borrow mine."

She met his eyes again, not sure why he was so insistent on helping her.

Finally she conceded. "Fine. Thank you, again."

He smiled a little. "Yeah, anytime Foster.
