Keefe made his way in the front door of their house, coming home from work.
"I'm home Soph!" He called into the house.
When she didn't respond he started walking around the spacious house, peeking into different rooms in search of his wife.
He heard her talking to someone and followed the sound, finding himself outside the bathroom which had the door cracked.
"Yes sir. Let's get you cleaned up. Gosh aren't you just the cutest?" Sophie cooed, talking to someone.
Keefe gently nudged the door open to reveal Sophie bathing a tiny orange kitten in the sink, lathering soap on it.
She looked over at him sheepishly. "Keefe! Look what I found outside."
"Was it alone?"
"Of course! If I saw the mom I would have brought it inside too." She rambled, rinsing the tiny cat in warm water.
"So what are you gonna do with it?"
Sophie gave Keefe puppy dog eyes, her golden brown eyes widening. "Can we keep it?"
Keefe couldn't say no even if he wanted to. When Sophie looked at him with those brown eyes he simply gave into everything she asked.
He tried to tell her no but his resolve disappeared when she wrapped it up in a towel and swaddled it like a baby.
"Look how happy he is to be inside and clean! I can't make him go back out."
She held him up in Keefe's face, the little orange fluff ball giving him the same pleading eyes.
She taught him well and it had only been a day.
They were gonna give Keefe a run for his money.
"What should we name him?" Keefe asked. Sophie squealed excitedly, "I was thinking Stanley. I think he looks like a Stanley don't you?"
Stanley meowed in response, nuzzling Sophie's face lovingly.
"I think Stanley is perfect." Keefe replied, gazing in awe at his wife. She never failed to amaze him and it seemed like she got more beautiful with each passing day.
"Keefe we have to go buy him a bed and toys and food now!" Sophie announced excitedly.
"Soph he's a cat not a baby." Keefe tried to reason.
She gave him a deadpan look. "And?"
"Andddd let me put my stuff down and we can go buy him stuff." Keefe conceded, unable to say no to Sophie.
She smirked. "That's what I thought."
She had Keefe wrapped around her finger, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
