"No, Keefe we have to mix all the dry ingredients separately before we add the wet ingredients!"

"It's all getting mixed together anyway. Why does it matter?" He whined in response.

"Because that's just how it is!" Sophie replied in exasperation, throwing her hands in the air.

A stray hair fell into her eyes and Keefe reached over to brush it behind her ear.

"Thanks. Now mix the wet ingredients." She huffed, reaching for the bowl of flour and mixing the sugar in.

He groaned. "This is not fun."

"You're the one who wanted mallowmelt."

"Yeah, I wanted it. I didn't want to make it." Keefe grumbled.

"Too bad so sad. Mix."

"You knowww, you look really cute in that little apron of yours." He said, sneaking up behind her and linking his arms around her waist.

"You're being distracting."

"That's kind of the idea." He murmured in her ear, making her shiver involuntarily.

His lips quirked up into a smirk at the response he elicited.

Ever so softly he brushed his lips from her ear down her neck until he reached her collarbone, placing a few gentle kisses on it.

Sophie could feel her resolve dissipating as she set the bowl down and took a deep breath.

Keefe took his opportunity to spin her around, blocking her against the counter with his arms.

She looked up at him through her eyelashes, a little patch of flour clinging to her nose.

"You got something here." He laughed, brushing the flour off of her face.

Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. How adorable.

Gently, he dipped his head down and met her lips with his.

She melted into him, arms around his neck pulling him impossibly closer.

One of his hands remained at her waist while the other cradled her head.

He coaxed her mouth open, reveling in the taste of her.

Without breaking the connection, he slipped his hands under her thighs, lifting her up and setting her down on the counter top.

She made a little sound of surprise but took the new angle as an opportunity to deepen the kiss even more.

Her hands tangled in his hair, tugging gently but enough to send little tingles through his body.

Keefe nearly melted into her, so content in this moment that he thought he could stay here forever.

Slowly his hands trailed down to her hips before slipping up underneath her tunic, gently caressing her waist.

"Ahem."

They jumped apart as though ice cold water had been poured over the both of them.

Grady stood in the doorway to the kitchen, an unreadable expression settled on his face.

Sophie quickly hopped off the counter, standing in front of Keefe like a shield.

"Dad! W-What are-"

"Edaline said there was mallowmelt in here. Looks like she was wrong." He said, his face still unreadable.

Sophie winced. "Uh we're making some if y-you want-"

He gave her a deadpan look. "Were you now?"

Keefe. Sophie said in his mind.

Yeah?

Run. Now! She ordered him, giving him a little shove in the opposite direction of her father.

He grabbed her arm gently, dragging her with as they made a run for it.

They used a crystal to leap to Keefe's house, bursting into laughter once they had leaped.

"Oh gosh, I'm grounded for life." Sophie said between laughs.

"Oh no, I guess you just have to stay here with me forever!" Keefe announced sarcastically.

"You wish." She snorted, following him inside.
