All That Grace

"We're in this together. Like I said earlier, this is something we are both part of."

The aroma of roasted coffee beans, sizzling bacon and the busy morning streets of Boston buzzed around the apartment as the day begun in the Hunter-Ramsey household.

"Ethan..." Blue let out over breathy giggles as her husband peppered kisses along her jaw as he stood between her legs where she was sitting on the counter.

His hands gripped her hips tightly, fingers digging into his sky blue shirt, which was essentially the only thing she was wearing. As his lips made their way back to hers, Blue melted into his kiss, her hands pressed against his bare chest.

"The bacon's burning..." Blue said against his lips, despite her words, not making a single effort to peel herself off him.

"And?" Ethan countered without a care making Blue laugh into the kiss.

"I'm not having burnt bacon for breakfast." Blue said, crinkling her nose as she finally managed to pull away slightly to switch off the stove that was near her.

"You woke up rather early today." Ethan noted, his hands rubbing the sides of her thighs gently before carrying her off the counter. "Did I not tire you off enough?"

"Trust me, you did." Blue replied with a shy chuckle. "But I woke up feeling restless and dreamt of the bacons you get in like those hotel breakfast packages, and really wanted to eat them."

Ethan let out a laugh at that, pressing a kiss to the side of her head fondly.

"Of all things that you could have dreamt of, u dreamed of bacon?" he said through a chuckle.

"Don't judge me." Blue whined playfully, nudging him before plating the bacon. "You get to eat them now because I did."

"Can't argue with that." Ethan said, smiling as he poured the Kona coffee that he brewed for them. It was the same packet of beans that he had bought back when they had flown to Hawaii for Inez and Zaid's wedding, and of course, Blue is the only one to have the privilege to share them with him.

"You sure do have a big appetite this morning for someone who does not eat much for breakfast usually." Ethan quipped as he took a sip of his coffee, humming gently at the pleasant hit of its taste.

"Well, someone did tire me out last night and this morning." Blue bickered back, causing a handsome smirk to make its way up his face.

"Did not hear you complaining though." he replied.

"For an old man, you sure do have some stamina--"

Blue cut her ownself off as she burst into a fit of giggles at the unamused glare her husband sent her way.

"Let me remind you that you chose to marry this old man." he told her, his facade cracking a little into a smile of his own the more he watched the amusement and smile on Blue's face.

"Unfortunately..." Blue said with a feigned sigh.

"Why do I put up with you?"

"Because you love me."

"Unfortunately..." Ethan shot back playfully this time, making Blue smile as she leaned over to press her lips to his, briefly but sweetly.

"I love you too, old man." she added, chuckling at his glare again. She kissed his nose fondly as he pulled her onto his lap at the dining island "You're too easy to tease."

"And you always get a kick out of it." Ethan replied with a shake of his head as he rubbed her thighs.

Blue looked at him, her emeralds carrying a gentle bulk of love as a soft smile played on her lips.
