The next day bleakly passed by within the peaks of daylight as Dodgers, who was sleeping on one of the small bunk-like beds, slowly wakes up to see 404 right beside him, his smile brightly shining like the sun."Good morning, sleepyhead. How are you, feeling?" Hareway asked, with his voice soft and soothing, like honey lavender.
"Heh, well if I had to take a guess. Then I suppose it wouldn't be as calm and relaxed as you are, apparently." Dodgers spoke with a small chuckle before realizing that the two were in his own Crew ship and sat up, in confusion.
"Wait...how exactly did we get on my ship?" Dodgers asked with his eyebrow raised up, puzzled.
Due to the fact that the team was supposed to have already reached to Saturn's moon, hours ago.
Unless, something, or more say someone, convinced them otherwise.
"Oh don't worry about that, I radioed Aurora to come pick us up. Your friends were still able to let us both inside the ship before the black hole got any closer." 404 explained right as Dodgers thought back about the battle that they had both endured.
Now remembering about the explosion that happened afterwards.
Before he was thrown back and everything had turned pitch black.
With a deep sleep that felt like he couldn't breathe or wake up from.
Until he was able to hear 404 voice again and opened up his eyes, feeling groggy.
Before they were both able to return to the Crew ship, thanks to his friends' quick navigation skills.
"Heh, I guess the grenade did some damage to their ship then....." Dodgers spoke with a small laugh before looking back at how much damage it must have caused and wanted to ask one more important question in mind.
"Is...is Queen Tyr'ahnee...." Dodgers mumbled on before he paused in silence, already knowing the answer that he somehow didn't want to hear.
It was one thing if the Martian army, or even the General, was gone and all.
But Queen Tyr'ahnee....
Was a much more complicated story.
Especially since they were previously allies throughout much of their past.
And even once, dated for some time.
Although it was clear that he had already moved on with someone else, he couldn't help but to think...
If they weren't fighting over the whole apocalyptic black hole...
Would she have changed?
Or...
Was her fate already inevitable to begin with?
"Yes...I'm sorry. They were both smothered into the ashes during the explosion." 404 sympathetically portrayed, with a deep understanding on how hard it must have been for Dodgers.
Enemy or not.
She was someone that he knew.
As Dodgers looks over at 404, with his eyes lowered, gloomy in sadness.
"Do you think I could have saved her?" Dodgers asked, quietly.
"Maybe not....but either ways, none of it was your fault. Things like this just happen. For reasons that we may not understand." 404 advised softly.
"You're right....thanks for coming back to get me." Dodgers thanked him, with his smile now glowing a little in relief.
"For you, I would always a way." 404 spoke as the two looked at each other, with their eyes glistening like stars and their hearts synced into one.
That was, until one of them had to make a silly remark that pretty much ruined the moment.
"Besides, we never got to talk about each other's worlds as often. And I really want to know what it was like in your home planet." 404 spoke rhetorically in a joking manner.
While Dodgers face immediately displayed a 'really?' Look on his face.
"Are you serious? You act like you've never been to earth before." Dodgers noted, placing his hands on his hips, annoyed.
"Well on technical terms, I haven't. But...a little pest once told me that I was a part of earth, in some shape or form." 404 spoke
"Heh, I guess this pest, must still be bugging you about the past then. Do you.... think that your feelings for me would have changed if I haven't bothered you with all of this mess in the first place?" Dodgers asked, sadly.
"Why do you say that? I'm glad that I got to meet you, Dodgers. I know I wasn't the easiest to work with. But once you've shown me that we had a connection, past or not. You are what makes me the strongest version of myself. And if we were to get separated, I would simply push myself to go back in time over and over again, just to keep you close to me." 404 expressed sweetly.
Which immediately made Dodgers cheeks bloom exhilaratingly pink, in reaction.
"W-well I didn't think I was that much of an influence but...." Dodgers was going to say until he was suddenly embraced around his neck in a tight hold.
"Back there, when we were both hit by the explosion, I thought for a minute that I would lose you. That my whole world would be taken away from me. And I don't know what I would have done, if you weren't there with me." 404 spoke quietly before silence fills in the air for some time.
With the atmosphere warm and glowing.
Their faces, now feeling close to one another.
As the two look each other once more in the eyes.
With their sadness and happiness overwhelmingly colliding into one, emotional burst of colors.
With Dodgers now breaking the silence with his next words.
"Hareway...I...." Dodgers mumbled before 404 quickly cuts him off with a longing kiss to his lips!
As a swirling aura of joy and exhilaration circles around the two in a bonded hold.
Before the two wrapped their arms around each other and spent the afternoon in the comfort of each other's embrace.
Where time is not of the essence nor is the next journey that they will have face together.
With the broadcaster on the speaker, announcing their newest arrival, yet.
"Thank you all passengers for boarding this ship as we now enter into our new home. Welcome everyone to Enceladus, Saturn's finest moon, and the newest beginning of a brand new world." The announcer informed before Dodgers and 404 look at each other with brightened smiles and concluded to the rest of that announcement.
With words spoken from the truest of their hearts.
"Our whole world." They both whispered at the same time.
