The five of them began preparing for their set at live aid by practicing their set repeatedly over the few weeks they had before the show.

And exactly a week before the performance, the group had gone out for drinks together.

"Well, I think a proposal in front of 1.5 billion people would be quite romantic." Brian said, glancing at Roger.

"I agree." Deaky nodded, looking between Hyacinth and Roger.

After a whole day spent drinking wine, Hyacinth was already blackout, and had no idea what anyone was on about, but Roger got the message.

"You know, sweetheart, it might be time for you to get some sleep." Roger said, holding Hyacinth by the waist as he bought her over to his car.

"How about we all go to yours?" Deaky suggested. "The nights only just started for the four of us."

"Yeah, Cynthi can sleep while we get a couple drinks in before bed." Brian agreed, and Roger nodded along as he told everyone to meet at his.

He carried hyacinth into their bed, leaving her to sleep while he went downstairs to discuss the big surprise with his band mates.

"Live aid would be the perfect opportunity."

"At the end of the set."

"Right before we leave the stage."

"You'd get her reaction from a dozen angles."

"It would be very public - she'd be happy about you two finally making it fully official to the press."

"Yeah, it would show that your relationship is real and not just a rumour."

"She'd love it."

"Have you found a ring yet?"

"Will all of you just calm down?"Roger groaned. "He knew that he was proposing at the end of their live aid set, and he had already found a ring.

A gold band with a square diamond.

He hadn't purchased it yet, but he knew he was buying it.

And he was proudly telling Freddie about it until he heard his reaction.

"A gold band? A square diamond?" Freddie gasped, as if it was the most unbelievable thing he'd ever heard. "Cynthi is a silver girl. She likes the teardrop shaped diamonds. Or the heart shaped ones. Make sure it's silver. Or she won't say yes."

Roger nodded and made a mental note to take Freddie ring shopping with him, deciding that maybe his knowledge on fashion wasn't as sharp as he had previously thought.
