I woke up early that next morning and slowly got up off of the dramillion. Today's Hiccups big fight and I don't need people seeing me leave this dragons cage. I take one final look at the sleeping dragon before I slide out through the small food door. The suns just started to come up and I scurry across the arena to get back to the door. My wood is still there holding the gate up and I'm able to slide back under. I clean off my clothes and straighten them as I start to remove the wooden chunks. I make sure I leave no trace of my visit before heading up to the grandstands to wait for more people to file in.

The fight is to be early so that if he wins we can revel and celebrate all day and if he looses then we will mourn all day. A large crowd forms very quickly as Stoik stands on the steps of the building behind the great big area. "Sup F," Tuffnut shouts as he climbs down the seats and joins me. His twin follows suit and sits next to him. She yawns before leaning backward against the seat behind us. "Morning," I say as I roll my eyes at the two idiots before turning back to the chief hoping he'll start soon, my nerves of going overload for Hiccup knowing he's not gonna be able to kill anything other then maybe himself.

"So Frey-" but I glare at Snotlout and he ads the "-ah." The twins giggling amongst themselves as Snotlout sits down next to me. Whereas Tuff left a normal amount of space, Snotlouts left not even enough room for a tuna fish. "Is there something you want or do you just enjoy pain?" I ask as I flip my knife from hand to hand. It's gotten much easier to do these showy threatening moves and I enjoy how much it makes people squirm. "I have a basement if you know, ya want to move in. I know you've just been-" but his voice trails off as the dagger stops moving and points towards him. I don't spare him with an answer as I turn back to the Chief.

"Where's fish?" I ask the twins who both look up from the finger game they were playing. "The sea?" Ruff answers as if I'm the stupid one. "Legs, Fishlegs," I bite out with an eye roll and Tuff sighs. "Ohhh, no clue," they both shrug. I side look Snotlout who's fidgeting with his hands, thankfully he moves farther away but still laugh to close for my liking.

"Well I can show my face in public again!" The Chief starts his speech and I scrunch up my nose in disgust. What's with fathers embarrassing their kids in front of large groups of people. The crowd cheers wildly for their leader and this makes me roll my eyes and I lean back against the seats behind me. "If someone had told me that in a few short weeks, Hiccup would go from well being-" he pauses with a chuckle. "-ahh, Hiccup, to placing first in dragon training! I'd have tied him to a mass and shipped him off for having gone mad!" The crowd is eating this shit up and I can't help but find it repulsive. Yeah Hiccups kinda a bitch but now I feel slightly bad for him for having a lame dad.

"But-" he silences the crowd to continue talking. "Here we are. No one's more surprised, or more proud than I am. Today my boy becomes a Viking. Today he becomes one of us!" I wince slightly knowing that's all I've ever wanted and that's the last thing Hiccup wants. I could be the one that the Chief is talking about. The speech would definitely go more like, I always knew it would be her or she has always had the ability to win this.

I look around to try and find my father or Astrid and both are nowhere. I understand my father, he's probably too embarrassed to show his face, but Astrid? She lives to see the walking sticks downfall.

The crowd starts chanting the boys name as he appears from the entrance of the arena. He's wearing his too big Viking hat and has no weapons. "Yeah show them how it's done!" Snotlout cheers from beside me and I know he didn't actually like the walking fish bone, he just wants to be in the in. The twins are cheering like crazy and jumping up and down. I'm not sure how they feel for the skinny brunette but they might like him a little more than the rest of us.

Hiccup marches straight for the weapons wall and picks out a shield and a small dagger. This is all so different than when he first came to practice. Then he could barely lift his shield with two hands let alone one. He pauses and takes a deep breath before looking up to the heavily sealed door. The monstrous nightmare, it has the ability to light its self on fire, its jaw opens enough to each a Viking on one bite, and it has razor sharp claws that can cut through bone. How Hiccups walking out of this alone is beyond me.

The door slowly opens which causes everyone to wait silently. I surprise myself when I jump in my seat when the dragon burst through the doors. He's a bright red things that's accentuated by the orange flames covering his large body. The doors and floors in his cage are covered in some kind of fiery lava jell.

The wild beast crawls around the walls of the arenas as it gets used to not being confined. He shoots blasts of fire in different direction almost hitting people. "Ohhh, me! Hit me!" Ruff stands and shouts but her twin pushes her away. "No. Me! Shoot me big boy!" Tuff yells and I feel Snotlout scoot farther away clearly not wanting to actually end up in the crossfires if the twins get hit.

The dragon slowly looses its flame and I can see the orange blotches all over it that remind me of fire dancing. This is a deadly and beautiful beast. "Go on Hiccup! Kill it!" different people scream down at the boy who seems to be paralyzed in fear. With all the yelling the monstrous nightmare finally notices he's not alone in the cage. He slowly crawls closer to the small boy snarling and growling. "Finnish it!" another person yells as the dragon gets closer and closer to the boy. Hiccup takes slow steps back but the dragon doesn't back down.

I'm on the edge of my seat now and watch as Hiccup drops his weapons one by one. Before putting his hands back out infront of him. The dragon gets closer but Hiccup no longer moves. Shock runs through the crowd as everyone seems to be on the edge of their own seats waiting so see what the Chiefs son is planning. "Is he gonna use his bear hands?" Tuff ask with a disturbing smile. No one answers the strange boy.

"I'm not one of them!" The Chiefs son yells before throwing his helmet down. Everyone simultaneously stands with a gasp. "What the!" The twins yell together. I stand up against the arena chain so I can see everything without the twins getting in the way. "Stop the fight!" The Chief yells breaking the silence. "No! I need you all to see this!" His son argues back. The dragon is only feet away from the boy who's trying to touch it. "They're not what we think they are," he explains holding only one arm at. "We don't have to kill them!" My stomach drops with worry knowing this isn't going to end how the boy wants it too.

"I said stop the fight!" Stoick stands and yells while banging his hammer on the chain ring. I can see the indent it left into the iron from here. The loud noise surprises the dragon who tenses back up. Hiccup jumps back as the dragon bears its teeth at him. "Run!" I scream and the small crowd around me looks shocked that I would give any input in. My face flushes but I don't give anyone a second of my attention which is all on Hiccup. I'm not sure if he heard me but he runs out of the way as the dragon shoots him with a fire bolt.

"Ahhhhh!" He screams while tripping over his own feet and having to get back up. He charges over to the weapons rack and picks up a new shield right before the dragon shoots it and sends it up in flames. "Hiccup!" Another voice comes out and I watch as my cousin charges across the arena with a hammer. She throws it towards the large dragon and it hits him in the head. It takes him a minute to register what happens before he turns and runs towards Astrid. "No!" I scream and I reach for my daggers. I know I'm high up but if I could just nail the dragon on his belly then it would hopefully distract him for a little while.

Astrid runs away and rolls left catching the large beast off guard who slams into the wall. This makes him angry and he lights himself of fire before charging at her again. "Hey asshole!" I scream as I throw one of my daggers at him. It grazes his left wing which causes him to face in my direction. Before he can react I throw a second one which sticks into his foot. "Here!" I hear Stoick yell and see him open the metal gate in my peripheral.

I have one dagger left and one last chance to distract him so that the two teens can safely leave. "Yeah you overgrown torch!" Ruff yells trying to get the monsters attention. "Hey! Ugly!" Tuff adds on the the dragons finally sees us and bears his teeth. I use this chance to throw my next dagger but somthing catches the dragons eye because he turns. Hiccup is running fast and hard to get to the open door when Astrid and his father are waiting. "No!" I scream when I see the dragon turn and send lava to the door. Hiccup falls hard to stop himself from running into the flames.

The dragons too far away from me to get a hit in so I lower my arm as I watch him grab Hiccup in his talons. The boy pits perfectly under the large dragons foot as he balls up I fear. "Night fury!" Someone screams and I turn to see toothless appear from above me and blast through the metal covering. "Someone get in there and help him!" A woman screams from behind me which is followed by a man feeling her she should then. I debate jumping down there and helping but I don't think I would be able to physically walk away from a jump at this height. "This is the best day ever!" The twins scream and I hold back my arm so I don't stick my dagger in either of them.
