One week later
I dropped the last file in my hand and looked at the time
It was time to go home, I am always happy to go home to my dearest hubby
It's been a week since our Nikkah and Iqraam has been nothing but sweet, thoughtful, considerate and caring
I stood up and wore my overcoat, I picked up my hand bag and walked out of my office
" Reya, I'm going home" I said to Reya who was also packing up to close for the day
" Alright, see you tomorrow" Reyna said with a smile
" See you" I replied and made my way to the elevatorI got to the underground parking lot and made my way to my Audi R8 green hell
It was one of the two I got as dowry
I got in and ignited the engine, driving home
I got home after a while and walked into the house
My phone rang while I was changing shoes
I took my phone and picked up the call, it was Fatima calling
" As Salam alaikum" I said
" Wa alaikumus Salam" Fatima replied
" Can I come over to your place for dinner?" She asked
" Sure, why not" I replied
" Thanks babe, my mom won't let me have peace anymore, it's all about when are you getting married, I want grandkids these days" Fatima said and I chuckled
" She's just eager to see you settled" I said still laughing
" Whatever, I'll be at your place soon" Fatima said
" Okay, Allah afeez" I said
" See you soon, Allah afeez" Fatima said and cut the call
I kept my phone aside and changed my shoes and removed my coat
" You're back"
It was aunty Amina, I learnt she was Iqraam's nanny when he was younger and she worked in his parents house and has refused to retireShe comes with some other maids every two days to clean up and do grocery shopping, today she was with two other maids
" Yes aunty, how do you do?" I replied and asked
" I'm fine my child, how was work today?" she asked
" It was okay" I answered
"We were about to go back" aunty Amina said
" Won't you stay for dinner?" I asked
"Don't worry my dear, we'll have dinner when we get back " aunty Amina said and I nodded
I walked them to the door and we said goodbyes before they left
I made my way upstairs to change into comfortable clothes before going to the kitchen to make dinner
I got ingredients from the fridge and started making jollof rice and peppered turkey
My mom taught me how to cook and she's partly African, which is where I got my hair
She taught me many recipes which her own mom taught her, jollof rice is one of them
I was halfway through when the doorbell rang
I cleaned my hands and walked to the door to open it
"As Salam alaikum" Fatima said pulling me into a hug
