In the tranquil morning light, Sandipani sat cross-legged over his seat, his wife was seated beside him. Before them, Krishna and Balram were on their knees with utmost reverence, their expressions a blend of humility and devotion.
With profound respect, Krishna said, "Guruvar, aapne hum dono ko 4 Ved, 6 Vedant, sabhi upanishad, Dhanurved, samast shashtravidya aur 64 kalaye sikhayi hai. Gyaan ke iss daan ka hrin utaarne hetu, aap humse jo Guru dakshina chaahe, maang le."
"Hum vachan dete hai ki hum aapki maangi Gurudakshina aapko awashya denge." Balram said.
Sandipani smiled, "Aap dono ka Guru banna toh mera saubhagya tha. Jo sabhi gyaan ke shrot hai, unke liye mere ashram mei ana toh keval ek aupcharikta thi. Aapko dekh kar, aapka saath paa kar, fir kaunsi iccha bach jaati hai ?"
"Koi toh iccha awashya hogi, Guruvar." Krishna said.
Balram looked at Gurupatni, and addressed her, "Gurumaa, aapke prem ke karan hume Mathura ki yaad nahi aayi. Aap toh kuch maangiye."
At that Gurupatni lowered her gaze, trying to suppress the pain that she had held in her heart for years, "Meri iccha koi purn nahi ho sakti." She said in resignation.
"Maatey," Krishna said, "Mere liye koi karya asambhav nahi. Kahiye toh, mai awashya purn karunga."
She looked at the face of Krishna, a glimmer of hope ignited within her. He was the lord, a very benevolent one at that, was there anything that he cannot accomplish ? Gurupatni looked at Sandipani, who knew very well what her pain was, what her wish was. But wouldn't asking such a thing, be against the laws of nature ? Thinking like so, Sandipani hesitated.
Krishna pressed on, "Yadi aap humse Guru dakshina nahi maangenge, toh fir hum acharya-hrin se mukt nahi ho paayenge. Kripiya sankoch na kare, jo iccha hai bata de. Mai vachan deta hu ki aapki woh iccha awashya purn hogi."
Looking at his wife, who now had tears in her eyes, as if begging him to ask the lord for that miracle, Sandipani finally spoke, "Gurudakshina ke roop kya aap humare putra ko punah jeevit kar sakte hai ? Humare paas use laa sakte hai ?"
Balram frowned, "Kya huya aapke putra ke saath ?"
Gurupatni broke down into tears, the pain that she had been carrying from ages, fell from her eyes like a torrent. In a choked voice she said, "Mera putra Prabhaas tirth ke samudratat kinaare khel raha tha, achanak samudra ki ek lahar use khich ke andar le gayi...."
Holding Krishna's hands, she begged, "Krishna... Sarveshwar.... Varsho se mai aur tumhare Guru, putra mrityu ke shok ki agni mei jal rahe hai... Laa sakte ho kya use wapas ? Tum kehte ho ki tumhare liye koi karya asambhav nahi... Kripiya iss karya ko siddh kar do !"
"Humare toh kul ka hi naash ho gaya hai, Krishna. Woh humara ek lauta putra tha." Sandipani said sadly.
Seeing the plight of his devotees, Krishna's eyes blazed with determination. He couldn't let them suffer any longer, not when he has given a promise.
In a firm voice he said, "Mai aapke putra ko wapas lekar aayunga. Teeno loko mei aapka putra jaha bhi hoga, mai use waha se laayunga. Yeh meri pratigya hai."
Sandipani and his wife exchanged surprised glances, a glimmer of hope shining in their eyes. Krishna and Balram stand up, their determination palpable as they stride purposefully outside the ashram. The morning breeze seems to carry with it a promise of miracles as the two brothers embark on their journey.
Leaving the ashram, Krishna and Balram gracefully mount a chariot waiting for them outside. The sun's golden rays shimmer upon their divine forms as they set forth on their mission to fulfill the heartfelt wish of their Guru and Gurupatni.
"Waise Krishna," Balram looked at him, as the morning winds caress their faces, "Kya mrit ko punah jeevan daan dena, prakriti ke niyamo ke virudh nahi hoga ?"
"Awashya hoga." Krishna said, his eyes focused on the road that leads to Prabhaas tirth.
Balram frowned, "Sarvagya ho tum. Unki iccha jaante huye bhi kyu swikara tumne ?"
Krishna smiled as he cast a sidelong glance at his brother, "Sansaar ke niyam banaye maine hai, iss liye unhe tod bhi keval mai hi sakta hu."
"Satyavachan. Waise bhi, tum par vash kiska chala hai ?" Balram also smiled.
Krishna chuckled, "Keval mere bhakto ka."

A/NBhakt ke aadhin hai yeh Bhagwaan 😍
Also fun fact about Prabhaas tirth.... Yeh wahi jagah hai jaha Chandradev Daksh ke shraap se mukt huye the, aur yaha Yadavas met their end 🌝
It's actually one of the most important tirthas mentioned in Mahabharat, like every character has gone there atleast once.
