-- SOMETIME LATER --

With tears in his eyes, Nand said to Uddhav, "Humari manosthiti sadev Krishna ke charano ke sharan le, humari jeebha par keval uska hi naam ho, humare deh sadev usko pranaam kare. Bhagwaan ke iccha se hum jaha bhi jaaye, humare sabhi karmo ke punya hume Krishna ke prati prem-bhaav de."

"Iss prakaar maine aapke leelao ke Bhajan se, aur aapke baato se Vrajbaasiyo ko anandit kiya, jaisa aap chaahte the, prabhu." Uddhav said.

In an opulent room Krishna, Balram, Ugrasen, and Vasudev listened to the son of Devabhaag. The room was filled with a rich tapestry of scents, colors, and sounds, as gifts from the residents of Vraja adorned every corner. Fragrant flowers and sumptuous fruits surrounded them, a physical manifestation of the affection and gratitude of the Vraja people towards Krishna and Balram.

Uddhav said, "Unn gopiyo ke charano ki dhul toh mai apne mastak par laga ke ghumunga, jinke hridaye mei aapke liye itna prem aur bhaktibhaav hai, Krishna."

"Mai tumse atyant prasann hu Uddhav. Tumne Vrajvaasiyo ko anandit kar, mujhe anandit kiya hai." Krishna smiled.

Uddhav joined his hands, "Mai toh aapka sevak hu prabhu. Koi aur aagya hai toh kahe."

"Waise ek karya aur hai toh sahi." Krishna said.

"Kaisa karya ?" Uddhav asked.

Krishna smilingly said, "Ek aur bhakt hai, jisko anandit karna hai. Vachan diya tha maine use."

Uddhav immediately stood up from his seat, "Aap kahe toh abhi chale ?"

"Yadi sajj ho toh chalo." Krishna said.

The opulent brothel was exuding wealth and luxury, with silken drapes and ornate furniture creating an air of decadence. Trivakra paced back and forth anxiously, the soft glow of oil lamps casting flickering shadows across her delicate features.

Ever since Kamsa's demise, she had been eagerly awaiting Krishna's promised visit, her heart filled with a mix of longing and doubt. As she moved, the tinkling of her jewelry filled the room, a stark contrast to the heavy silence that enveloped her thoughts.

As she recalls Krishna's divine beauty, a fire ignites within her, desire blazing brightly in her heart. Each moment without him feels like an eternity, her yearning growing stronger with every passing heartbeat.

Trivakra's mind was fraught with uncertainty – would a god truly grace her doorsteps ? Would Krishna fulfill his vow to visit her, despite the surroundings that she called home ? Would a god be willing to enter a place shunned by righteous men ?

With each passing moment, her anticipation grew, mingled with a deep-seated fear of rejection by the divine. As she pondered her fate, the sound of the creaking gate pierced the heavy silence of the night.

Heart pounding, she rushed outside, her eyes widening in disbelief and joy. There, standing before her, was Krishna his radiant smile lighting up the darkness. Beside him stood Uddhav. To have a god revered by many, step foot into her humble abode was both a validation of her devotion and a testament to his boundless compassion.

"Aap aa hi gaye, prabhu..." Trivakra eyes moistened at the sight of her lord.

Krishna smiled, "Mujhe toh ana hi tha. Tum itni nishtha se jo mujhe yaad kar rahi thi."

With a shy giggle, she joined her hands, "Padhariye prabhu. Aap dono ka swagat hai."

Leading Krishna and Uddhav inside her opulent brothel, Trivakra watched as they gazed in awe at the lavish surroundings, appointed with expensive furnishings and replete with sensual accoutrements meant to inspire sexual desire. There were banners, rows of strung pearls, canopies, fine beds and sitting places, and also fragrant incense, oil lamps, flower garlands and aromatic sandalwood paste.

Her fellow courtesans peered out from behind curtains, awestruck at the sight of the revered deity in their midst. Sensing the divine presence of the lord, they came forward with offerings and gestures of reverence.

"Sthaan grahan kare." Trivakra said as she offered them both high seats.

However the saintly Uddhav chose to sit on the ground, honoring the presence of the divine. He couldn't bear to have a seat on the same level as Krishna.

Other women from the brothel approached with offerings of worship, their faces radiant with devotion. They presented fragrant flowers, incense, and sweet delicacies to Krishna, expressing their reverence through heartfelt rituals.

A young maiden approached Krishna with a goblet of wine in her hands. With trembling fingers, she offered the wine to him, her expression a mix of nervousness and admiration. He stared at the glass, a moment of silence enveloped the room. The maiden's heart raced with fear, worried that she had offended the supreme lord.

Krishna, with his eyes full of kindness, gazed at the girl, understanding her trepidation. A gentle smile played on his lips as he reached out and accepted the glass. The maiden's fear melted away as Krishna raised the glass to his lips and took a sip of the wine.

Uddhav, seated on the ground, watched in awe as Krishna's actions. His eyes widened with a mix of bewilderment and admiration.

"Mujhe laga tha ki Vaishnav madira-paan nahi karte." Uddhav said.

Krishna was quick to reply, "Kintu mai toh Shaiv hu."

A chuckle left the lips of Uddhav. The lord certainly would do anything for the pleasure of his devotees.

So did Krishna drink wine ? Yeah. He did.

In Mahabharat, he has been shown drinking at many places, usually with Arjun. Like before Khandavdahan, Arjun, Draupadi, Subhadra and Krishna were having a small drinking party.

And when Sanjay visits Dwarka, he sees Arjun, Krishna, Satyabhama and Draupadi in a room drinking bassia wine together.

It was no big deal for Kshatriyas. And only Brahmanas were forbidden to drink, because they were mostly teachers.
