Srinav stood at the balcony of their bedroom, the moon casting a soft glow around him as he gazed out into the night. The cool breeze carried whispers of ancient trees, their leaves rustling as if trying to calm him. But despite his anger, his thoughts involuntarily drifted to Amarsri. He couldn't help it. He never had been able to.
As he gazed at the twinkling stars, a sense of longing and sadness crept into his heart. Slowly, he raised his hands, his divine powers effortlessly manipulating the celestial bodies. With a graceful sweep, the stars shifted and rearranged themselves, forming the ethereal outline of his wife's face. A sigh escaped his lips, how pleasant was her countenance, but alas he didn't gaze at her to his heart's content today.
"Srinav ?" Amarsri approached him, her steps hesitant and apologetic.
Srinav hastily dispersed the stars back to their original positions, a blush creeping onto his cheeks. The luminous night sky bore witness to his internal conflict - his frustration mingling with adoration for his wife. Turning to face her, his expression remained stoic, concealing the flicker of affection that illuminated his eyes.
However, the flush on his cheeks only served to deepen her apprehension, convinced that his ire still smoldered beneath the surface.
Taking a step towards him she said, "Aap abhi bhi krodhit hai ? Maanti hu ki mujhse bhul ho gayi, mujhe samaye ka bhaan nahi raha. Kintu itna krodhit hona bhi uchit nahi. Kshama maang rahi hu aapse, fir yeh bhul nahi karungi."
However, Srinav's silence was deafening, his stoic expression betraying his lingering anger. Amarsri's frustration grew as the silence stretched between them like an unbreakable barrier.
"Dev, subah se aap mujhe baat nahi kar rahe. Kuch toh kahiye." She said.
Frustration crept into her as she watched him walk away again, his silence cutting deeper than words. Unable to take it anymore, she defiantly reached out and grasped his arm, stopping him in his tracks.
She asked, "Kab tak muh ferenge ? Kab tak baat nahi karenge ? Patni hu mai aapki. Kya aisa vyavhaar mere prati aapko shobha deta hai ?"
Srinav gently pulled away, his silence cutting deeper than any spoken rebuke. Turning away, he retreated to the bed, leaving Amarsri standing alone with her own rising frustration.
He closed his eyes in a futile attempt to find solace in sleep. But then a sudden weight settled over his waist. With a jolt, Srinav's eyes flew open to behold Amarsri, perched atop him, like a queen on her throne.
"Amarsri ?!" Srinav blinked in surprise.
With a huff, she exclaimed, "Toot gaya aapka maunvrat ? Pure din mere saath aisa vyavhaar karke santusht hai aap ?! Chaliye mujhe kshama kariye, abhi !"
Srinav muttered, "Aise chadh ke kaun kshama maangta hai ?"
"Mai !" She shouted, "Aur mujhe aapki kshama chahiye, abhi ke abhi ! Kyu itna krodh aa raha hai aapko ?!"
"Kyu krodh aa raha hai ?" He scoffed, "Kuch hi samaye baad mujhe prithvi par avtaar lena hai, chaahta hu bacha huya samaye aapke saath vyatit karu prem se, kintu aap hai ki apni sakhiyo mei vyast hai ! Iss liye krodh aa raha hai !" He said.
"Mana meri galti hai aaj ! Kintu mai subah se manane ka prayas kar rahi hu kintu aap maan hi nahi rahe ! Beeta sakte the aap mere saath bacha huya din, kintu jab bhi baat karne aa rahi hu, muh fer ke bhaag rahe hai ! Patni ke prati yeh vyavhaar ashobhniya hai Shreeshaktiswar !" She scolded.
Feeling frustrated, Srinav firmly lifted her, gently placing her to the side of the bed. The tension between them lingered in the air as he turned to the other side, his expression a mix of exasperation and longing for peace.
"Patni ke prati ashobhniya vyavhaar aur mai ?" Srinav rolled his eyes, a mixture of amusement and annoyance flickering in them as he listened to her words.
"Kintu kar toh rahe hai aap..." Amarsri's frustration gave way to vulnerability, her voice faltering as she spoke, "Ashobhniya nahi toh kathor toh awashya hai."
Caught off guard by this sudden change, Srinav furrowed his brow, he turned back to face her, his gaze softening, "Amarsri ?"
"Aisa bhi kya paap ho gaya mujhse jo aap savere se mera tiraskaar kiye jaa rahe hai ?" Tears glistened in her eyes, as she spoke, "Mai maanti hu ki mujhse bhul huyi hai, maine aapse kshama bhi maangi. Kintu aap fir bhi nahi maan rahe... Batayiye, mai kya karu jisse mujhe aapki kripadrishti punah praapt ho ?"
Her once strong facade melted away, revealing a rawness and fragility that tugged at his heartstrings. Her once fiery demeanor now replaced by a haunting vulnerability that pierced his heart. Was he that harsh on her ? Did his anger cloud his mind so much, that he couldn't see her sorrow ?
Feeling a surge of guilt for causing her such distress, Srinav's panic sets. He hurriedly sits up straight, his eyes filled with a mix of regret and concern.
"Nahi priye, aap royiye mat." With a trembling hand, he gently wiped away her tears, his touch soft and comforting.
The touch of his hand on her cheek made Amarsri look up at him with eyes full of emotion.
With a nervous but loving smile, he said, "Mai krodhit nahi hu aapse, tanik bhi nahi, ansh maatra bhi nahi. Mujhe apne hridayeswamini ke netro mei ashru acche nahi lagte. Ab kripiya rona band kar dijiye."
He pulled her into his strong embrace, enveloping her in warmth and reassurance. Amarsri, feeling his love and forgiveness, melted into his arms, her sobs gradually quieting as they clung to each other in the darkness.
