Taylor waited in silence as she waited for Travis to gather his thoughts and say something. She played with her fingers in her lap and held her breath. Travis sat with his mouth slightly agape and tried to process what he just heard. "Taylor." He said. She didn't look at him- she couldn't. "Tay." He said again. She closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath. She clinched her eyes shut as hard as she could afraid of what he would think. Travis took his finger and lifted her chin. She slowly opened up her ocean blue eyes that were splashed with tiny tears. Travis started again "Taylor. I know I'm just a football player, and I'm really not as smart as you- and before you interrupt me- I don't mean it negatively towards myself. We all have strengths and weaknesses. I'm smart, I know, but not like you." Taylor felt her face start to burn. Travis continued: "I know when the end of the day comes my opinion is not much, because I don't know a lot about the music industry. But when I tell you that is some of the best music I've ever heard, I REALLY mean it." Taylor stared at him in disbelief. Could someone really love her music that much? He wasn't going to criticize? He wasn't going to ask who each song was about and beg for details? She finally let a tiny lone tear slip from her eye and Travis immediately wiped it away. "I mean it Angel. The lyrics alone captivated me. I am so proud of you." Travis brought her closer to him and kissed her. Taylor felt like this kiss was different. He kissed her with deep meaning and passion and pride. In that moment, she knew he meant it. Travis pulled away. Taylor looked at him and whispered "Your opinion is the only one I care about. Thank you." She let one more tear slip and he immediately wiped it away. They sat in silence for a few moments with their foreheads touching before Travis spoke again; "There were some songs about me." He said and smirked, making her blush return, once again. She giggled "I told you there was a few. Did you figure out which ones?" She asked. "So high school?" He asked without being able to look her in the face. The giddy feeling he had taking over causing him to feel shy. Taylor LOVED when he acted like that. She giggled. "Yes!!! AND the Alchemy!" Travis looked up at her in shock. "Really?" He asked with a soft tone. Taylor nodded her head yes with a huge grin plastered to her face. Travis blushed even harder. "Are you blushing?!" Taylor asked giggling his favorite giggle again. Travis groaned and leaned back on the bed and covered his face. "Cat got your tongue?" Taylor asked. Travis peeked at her and she smirked only darkening travis' blush. He could feel it moving to his ears. "Tayyyyyy." He whined. "Okay okay I'm done. Tell me what you really thought." She said removing his hands from his face. "I think you're a genius. A literal genius. How do you even write like that? Emily Dickinson who?" It was Taylor's turn to blush. "By the way" Travis smirked "did you really include scouts honor?" Taylor laughed. "It flowed out, I couldn't help it." She said giggling with a shrug. "Did you catch the third song I wrote about you?" She asked secretly joking. Travis tilted his head in confusion. Taylor stifled a giggle. "Tay there is no way there's another song about me." He questioned with a furrowed brow. Taylor couldn't help but laugh. "I told you I needed inspiration about the smallest man." And with saying that she attempted to leap off the bed and run away knowing she was poking a bear. Travis gave her no time to spring off the bed before he grabbed her by the foot and dragged her back towards him. She let a shocked squeal leave her lips. Travis waisted no time in gathering her hands into one of his and releasing his revenge, which deep down he knows she's asking for. He proceeded in an immediate tickle attack. His hand went immediately for her rib cage and she buckled under the ticklish sensation and let out a scream that followed by a slur of ticklish giggles. Travis kept her hands in his and didn't go easy. The higher he moved his hands the more Taylor trashed and shook her head no. Travis couldn't help but laugh at her predicament and he also noticed she wasn't saying stop. Once Travis reached the base of her armpit she began frantically shaking her head no and tried to pull her arms down. Travis giggled and said "oh no, it looks like I'm near a particularly bad spot for you." He said with a smirk. He stopped his attack. "I'll stop when you say I'm not the smallest man." Taylor, still giggling, said: "Travis go easy on me, I'm already dating the worlds smallest man so it's already hard enough for me." She said and couldn't hide her amused expression. Travis let go of her hands and dug both into the soft spot under her arms. She wailed in hysterics. He took his sweet time exploring her body to see which spots made her erupt in ticklish, frantic laughter. He made his way down and tickled each rib before Taylor's laughter turned into hiccuping, desperate, hoarse giggles. Travis placed both hands on the soft spots by her hips and dared her not to apologize and say he's not the worlds smallest man. Taylor stared at him wide eyed and decided to retreat. "I'm waving my white flag. I can't take it! It's not about you, I pinky promise!" She said shaking her flushed face no. Travis released her and pulled her up and kissed her forehead. Taylor smacked his arm. "Thank you for listening to my album and not making me feel weird about it." She said. "It was my HONOR to listen to something you've been working on so hard and devoting your life to. It was beautiful." And with that Taylor couldn't stop smiling the rest of the day. After that, she would show him every song she's ever written.
