"HEY WE'RE BACK." RORY LOOKED up from where she sat in the living room, wrapped into a blanket with her laptop on her lap.
Jeremiah entered the house, followed by Taylor and Belly. They came into the living room and Jeremiah sat down on the couch next to her, holding out a small cardboard bowl with a see-through plastic lid.
"Here you go." He grinned, and Belly brought over a spoon from the kitchen.
"Oh did you guys stop at the place by the bus stop?" Rory asked, sitting up and setting her laptop down on the coffee table in front of her.
She took the bowl from Jeremiah and the spoon from Belly, excitedly taking the lid off.
"Thank you!" She turned to the weekend's addition to the house, "Hi Taylor."
"Hi, Aurora."
Rory gave the younger girl a small smile, whose face remained neutral, before looking back to face Belly.
Rory also turned to speak to Belly, "So I cleaned up a little in your room, and I moved the inflatable mattress up there if you plan on using it."
Rory turned back to face the front, and Belly hugged her from behind the couch, "Ah, you're the best."
"Of course."
"When does Sophie get here?" She asked, and Taylor tapped her foot on the hardwood floor of the living room.
"In a few minutes, we'll meet you both by the pool?" Rory asked and Belly nodded.
"Yes!" Taylor figured that was the end of their conversation and moved to leave the room, but Belly stayed back, making her pause in the foyer, "Oh, and we're thinking of going to Nicole's tonight. After dinner."
"That sounds like a fun idea," Rory nodded, continuing to eat her ice cream, "I'm sure you guys will have a great time. Let me know if you need rides."
"You have to go with us!" Belly urged, and Jeremiah nodded from next to Rory.
"Eh," Rory shrugged and Belly shook her head.
"It's my birthday, you can't say no." Rory gave her a look, but Belly had her bottom lip jutted out and she held her hands up like she was begging her making Rory sigh. These kids could get her to jump off a cliff if they asked nicely.
"Sure, yeah okay."
Belly squealed in delight and took Taylor upstairs to settle in. Jeremiah stayed by her side as she grabbed her laptop off the table, and got comfy again, this time with her ice cream.
"What are you working on?"
"Trying to figure out college and all," Rory said vaguely.
"Have you made a decision yet?"
"I'm looking into all the other stuff to y'know, student housing, and scholarships."
"Well if you're going to BU, just stay with us." Jeremiah then sat up excitedly, "You can have Conrad's room! He's staying in the dorms at Brown so his room will be empty for most of the year."
"He's going to Brown? Like for sure going to Brown?"
"Yeah," Jeremiah nodded, before getting snuggling up into her side, "Has he not talked to you about it?"
"We're going through a thing right now," Rory said, letting Jeremiah rest his head on her shoulder, and the younger boy closed his eyes, letting himself rest by his unofficial-official older sister's side.
