ISABEL CONKLIN HAD A HORRIBLE ALCOHOL tolerance. She was tipsy after barely a few sips, and now, a couple of glasses (almost an entire jug) in, she was more than just drunk.
She swayed in place as Cameron tried to give her more water, but she gently pushed the bottle away and instead sipped on her margarita.
The parents had moved inside the house, sat around the dining room table, glasses of wine being passed around to combat the awkward tension amongst the adults.
Ellie, Gigi, Shayla, and Nicole entered the backyard with all their belongings packed and beach bags hanging off their shoulders.
"Hey guys, don't leave!" Belly exclaimed, and the girls stopped by the door leading out to the backyard.
"Shayla's not feeling too well, and we've got rehearsals tomorrow, so we should all rest up." Ellie tried, and with forced smiles, the girls left. None of them, especially Shayla, were blaming Belly or even Rory for what had happened on the dock.
Shayla's anger was solely focused on Steven. And some on Taylor (whom she hadn't even met), but mostly on Steven.
"I'm actually gonna take off, too," Cam said, helping Belly sit on a lawn chair pulled into the backyard for the party and food earlier.
"Why?" Belly asked, her tone laced with genuine confusion.
"I just think we can catch up when you're a little less..." He gestured to the drink in her hand, but she still didn't understand.
"A little less...?"
"Um, just drink water." He said softly, before waving and walking off in the same direction the debs had.
Belly continued to sip on her margarita instead, looking around and catching Theo walking up from the beach and over the back of the house.
"Hello, sea creature." She called out with a drunken giggle, and Theo looked over, surprised but waved to indicate he had heard her and then continued to walk to the outdoor shower heads.
He had gone for a quick surf, as per Conrad's request, in an attempt to get his mind off Adam. Conrad had also fought with his brother minutes prior, and was sporting an angry bruise on his cheek. So he was in dire need of a respite.
And Theo was happy to join, but a particularly powerful wave caught up to him out of nowhere, and he ended up off his board and covered in sand as he swam up to shore.
He stood under the shower, still in his swimsuit, trying to get sand out of his hair. He heard soft giggles from behind the walls that were put up for privacy and immediately recognized who it was.
"Belly?" He questioned as the girl made herself visible from behind the wall with pink cheeks and a large smile.
She held two glasses of margaritas now.
"Belly, I'm in the shower." He said, and she shrugged.
"Everybody left." She said, her lips turning into a pout, and Theo softly shook his head in amusement.
"God, you're really drunk, huh?"
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Belly stomped her left foot slightly, "Anyway, we still got margaritas to drink."
"Okay, well, I can't drink it in the shower." He said ducking out of the way from the water, so it wouldn't his his face as he turned around.
"Can you just put it down, and I'll get it after?" He asked.
