THE TWO HAD FINISHED getting ready just in time for the rest of the debs to arrive.
Belly went to greet them while Rory looked for shoes to wear, ultimately deciding on flip-flops instead of her usual sneakers. She stood in front of her full-length mirror, studying her reflection to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything.
She had kept her makeup soft and pretty, with pink eyeshadow brushed out with a hint of brown on her eyelids.
Her cheeks were covered with soft red blush, and Rory thought about how her cheeks would probably become a darker shade of maroon once she was out in the sun for a while.
Her lips were coated in red lipstick to match, with a clear gloss to make them look shiny.
She had a hairdryer to dry her hair completely and pulled it up in a ponytail, a couple of strands framing the sides of her face.
The gold necklaces matched her gold studs and earrings, and her hands were decorated with rings and bracelets.
She grabbed her phone from her nightstand, and made her way down the stairs, ready for a party.

Rory stood in the foyer with her parents and the Reynolds family as they invited them into the house.
Marie and Leslie Reynolds shared a friendly hug and walked into the kitchen as Ed led Ross Reynolds into the backyard, where he and John had been working the grill.
Sophie and Rory followed their mothers, as the shorter blonde turned to her friend, "Chase had a thing he had to do in town so he'll stop by a little later."
"Cool." Rory nodded, her nerves settling. Once everyone had drinks they made their way into the backyard, and Sophie paused at the door.
"Nicole's here?!" She whispered and Rory sighed, pulling on Sophie's arm so that they could go to a more secluded corner, away from the debs spread out by the picnic tables.
The boys were standing around them as well, Conrad's arm casually thrown over Nicole's shoulder who was clinging to the front of his shirt, with a tight grip. Rory narrowed her eyes at the sight, she had picked out that shirt for the older Fisher brother.
Nicole had been getting on her nerves, and she hadn't even been at the house for more than thirty minutes. She had latched herself onto Conrad, and almost even made him drop the plate of cookies he was carrying into the backyard because she wouldn't let go of his hand.
Rory was extremely frustrated when she ended up carrying the rest of the desserts out with no help from the Fisher boy because Nicole had demanded they take pictures by the pool, once they were in the backyard.
Rory had half the mind to just push the girl into the pool then and there.
Rory and Sophie made their way over to the edge of the pool on the other side of the backyard, away from the group before the brunette answered, "Belly invited her with the other debs."
"How do we feel about that?" Sophie asked, sipping her lemonade as the two sat by the pool with her legs dipped into the cool water.
"I don't know, it's obvious she doesn't like me, I don't know what to do about it." Rory shrugged, keeping her voice down.
The brunette had told herself that the only reason she didn't like Nicole was because she almost wasted her cookies earlier, however, Rory had been constantly glancing at the couple, and the sight of Conrad next to her resulted in a bitter feeling settling in the pit of her stomach.
