Chapter 2- First Day

I wake up around 5:30 and my shift starts at 8:30. Having a toddler and especially a girl toddler you're gonna have to get up extra early. I got out of bed and took my shower. I decided on a simple outfit black leggings and a dark brown button up shirt and some sneakers. I wear  my hair down and do some light makeup before cooking breakfast. I cook some pancakes, bacon, and eggs. I make Eliza's plate and put a cup of orange juice beside it and go get Eliza.

Eliza sweetie it's time to wake up,I say to to her in a sweet calm voice. Mhm I don't wanna, she says half asleep. I made you favorite breakfast. With that she shot right up and hugged me. Really thank you mama, she says. She runs to the kitchen and starts eating while I get her clothes out. It's gonna be warm out today so I get her a pretty yellow sundress and some sandals. Eliza gets done eating and Lucy gets her ready for her first day of daycare. Lucy and Eliza pull up to the day care and get out the car mumma up, Eliza says. Sweetie you know you can walk, I say as I'm picking her up. We start walking to the front door once we get there the daycare worker comes out. Hey there, I'm Mia I'm the one in charge, she says while we shake hands. Hey I'm Lucy and this is Eliza, I say. I put Eliza down bend down to her level and say, alright Liz I have to go I love you and behave. I say while ruffing up her hair a little bit. I don't want you to leave, she says while crossing her arms and tears form in her eyes. I put my hands on her shoulders, hey what did I tell you me and you forever and always, I won't leave you, I love you so much sweetie but you're gonna have to get used to me not being with you all the time I have work and you'll be starting school soon. If you need me ask Ms. Mia here to let you face time me or call me and I'll come get you if it's anything bad. Okay I love you I gotta get going make sure you behave. I kiss her forehead and pull her into a tight hug and whisper, I love you sweetheart I'll see you soon.

Angela's POV
As I pull up to the daycare I see this woman and her daughter they look they have an amazing relationship with each othero and her smile is beautiful. I get Jack out the his car seat and put him on my hip. We get to the door and the teacher or worker Mia introduces herself and I drop jack off but he's having a fuss   Hey I understand it's your first day I'm gonna miss you have Mia call me if anything happens okay I love you, I say while giving him a kiss on his forehead. I'm walking back to the car when I see the women from earlier we both lock eyes and smile at each other before getting into our car.

Lucy's POV

I finally arrive at the station I'm a little sad because it's really my first time without Eliza should would normally come to work with me but I'm at a new station and that would bring up a lot of questions.  As I'm walking in the door someone bumps into me I look and see this blonde dude with a stupid look in his face, watch where you're going boot, he yells at me. I'm already irritated, watch who you're yelling at Blondie you're the one that bumped into me , I say irritated as hell. Keep on and I'll make sure it's your last day here boot, he yells back. I'll like to see you try, I yell back walking way. Before I walk into the building I also say (Gilipollas) in Spanish loud enough so he can hear me (Asshole).

Tim's POV
I bump into a lady while walking out the building and we immediately get into a yelling match as she's walking away she yells something in Spanish but I don't understand it because I don't  speak Spanish that much. I'm already think to myself I'll have her badge by the end of shift.

Lucy's POV

I walk into the station and see Jackson he runs up to me and hugs me I hug him back and he can tell something wrong with. Luce what's wrong, he asks. Algún imbécil decide que quiere chocar conmigo y hacer que parezca mi culpa, así que nos metimos en un partido de gritos y ahora estoy cabreado (some asshole decides he wants to bump into me and make it my fault so now I'm pissed off), I say in Spanish. I said it pretty loud so now people are looking at me. In English Luce you know I don't understand when you speak Spanish. SOME ASSHOLE DECIDES HE WANTS TO PISS ME OFF BEFORE I START MY SHIFT, I practically yell. Luce calm down people are staring, Jackson's says. Sorry sorry I didn't mean to yell I'm just pissed off, I say put my hands on my face. Jackson pulls me back into a hug it'll get better Luce I promise how's Eliza, he asks. She's doing good and thanks, I say as I pull back. I gotta go head to the captain so we'll talk at lunch.

Angela's POV

I see the same girl I saw at the daycare at the station her and Tim are getting into a yelling match. I'm pretty surprised no one's ever done that before let's just hope he doesn't have her badge. I hear her yell asshole in Spanish while walking off and it makes me laugh a little. You've really pissed her off, I say to Tim. I'll have her badge by end of shift so don't worry about it, he says while walking off. Once I walk in a see her again hugging Jackson seems like they know each other pretty well then he asks what's wrong with her. She's practically yelling in Spanish and is getting looks from other officers because only a few know Spanish so they're confused. I just laugh and head to the locker room to change.

Lucy's POV

I head into the captains office I've met her before so we're kinda friends. Hey Zoe, I say as I enter my voice still sounding irritated. Hey Lucy so who pissed you off because I heard the screaming, Zoe says as she laughs and hugs me. Some blonde guy I'm sure I'll be fine in a little bit, I say as I sit down. So why the transfer, Zoe says. N-no reason, I say quickly. Zoe can tell something's wrong. Lucy what happened, she asks in a serious tone. Tears begin to form in my eyes as my breathing gets heavier I'm about to have a panic attack and Zoe notices, she gets up from her seat and rushes to me. Breathe Luce nice and slow for me. She does some breathing exercises and my breathing calms down. Lucy why did you leave, she's asks quietly. He raped me I say in a soft whisper hoping she can hear so I don't have to repeat myself. What Lucy I didn't hear you. Me violó, joder, Zoe, ( HE FUCKING RAPED ME ZOE) I yell in Spanish as I get up and tears begin to fall more quickly. Zoe immediately comes to hug me who raped you Lucy, she asks softly. Sergeant Johnson, I replied quietly. I'm so sorry Luce, she says while hugging me tighter. Let me know if you want to report it or not, she says. Thanks I will, I say. How's Eliza, Zoe says. Roll call is about to start let head there so I can introduce you, Zoe says. I wipe the tears off my face but it's still obvious I've been crying so I just try to keep my head down.

We get into roll call and Zoe had called everyone in including the detectives I just stand at the back leaning on the door and see most eyes on me I just roll my eyes and pay attention to Zoe. I see the girl I saw at the day care and we smile at each other while turn in our heads back to the door. Zoe says everything she needs to say, now let me introduce you guys to the legendary Lucy Chen. She waves me up and I start walking up to where she is avoiding eye contact everyone. So this is legendary detective Lucy Chen she'll be joining us from Hollywood division she's the best and the city. And I would watch out for her because she has a temper seems like sergeant Bradford has already pissed her off, she says while everyone starts laughing. Everyone dismissed Lucy, Angela, and Nyla stay back. Ok so Lucy this is Angela Lopez and Nyla Harper these are the two detectives you'll be working with, Zoe says. Nice to meet you both. I  say as we shake hands, you too, they reply with smiles.  Lucy let me know if you need to talk and you're able to leave whenever to pick up Eliza and if you have nobody to watch her just bring her to my office same with you Angela. We both say thanks as we head out to our desks.

The day went by pretty quickly. I got to know Angela and Nyla a bit more. I picked Eliza up from day care and she tells me she met a new friend named jack and she had a good time. We get home and I give her a shower then her dinner. I put her to bed and clean up. I take my shower and head to bed. The first day was pretty good.
