It's been about a week since everything has happened, I was back and work, Eliza was back at school and Angela and Jack were back at their house. I gotta admit it was nice having them around. It's always a good time when they're around Eliza is especially happier she's enjoys hanging out with Jack and her face lights up when she sees Angela which makes happy. After about 20 minutes I decided to finally get out of bed I got dressed, washed my face and brushed my teeth before fixing Eliza breakfast. I decided to do something simple I put her some yogurt in a bowl with some strawberries and blueberries. I put it on the bar top and went to wake Eliza up. Eliza sweetie it's time to get up, I say while stroking her check. Morning mama, she says while rubbing her eyes. Morning baby go eat breakfast while I get your clothes out, I say while smiling. Ok mama, she says getting out of bed slowly. I laugh at the site of it she's just like me never wanting to get up. I get her out a white sundress some and some yellow sandals. I go into the kitchen with Eliza and eat some strawberries while she finishes her yogurt, mama, she says. Yes sweetie, I ask a bit concerned. Can me and Jack have a sleepover, she asks. I don't mind sweetie you would have to ask Angela. Can you call her please, Eliza asks. Sure sweetie.
I call Angela and she answers almost immediately I pass the phone over to Eliza. Hey Lucy, everything okay, Angela asks. Hey Angela, Eliza asks. Hey sweetie is everything okay,Angela asks with concern in her voice. Yea everything is fine I just wanted of ask if Jack could stay over, Eliza asks hoping Angela would say yes. Of course sweetie I just have to ask Jack first. Jack, Angela yelled. Yes mama, he says. Eliza wants to know if you wanna have a sleepover. YES YES, Jack says excitedly. Alright go finish getting ready buddy, Angela said while laughing. Alright so he can stay over I'll see you, Angela says. Bye I'll see you later love you, Eliza says. I love you too, Angela says. Eliza passes the phone back to me so I can talk to Angela. Sorry for calling to early she practically begged me, I say while laughing. It's fine really I'll drop him off after shift. Alright that's fine with me I'll see you in a little bit bye, I say. Bye see you soon, Angela says.
Me and Eliza go to her room and I get her dress she decided she wanted to wear her hair down. She looked pretty her hair flowed down to the middle of her back and it was wavy with a few curls at the end. I put my shoes on and we head out the door. Me and Angela arrived at the same time when the kids saw each other they ran to each other and gave each other a big hug. Hey Jack, Eliza says excitedly. Hey Eliza, Jack says just as excited. Hey Lucy, Jack says running over to me and giving me a hug. Eliza goes to give Angela a hug. Hey buddy I say while hugging him back. Hey Eliza you look really pretty, Angela says. Thanks my mommy, helped me, Eliza says. Well she did a good job, Angela says. Alright y'all head in before we're late for work. Bye Love you, both of the kids say. Love y'all too, me and Angela say. We watch them go in and then head onto work.
Once I get to the station I started working on my case it was a domestic case. I decided to stop by the house I heard a lot of shouting. I go knock on the door and I see a woman open it, she looked scared and had a few bruises on her arms. Hey ma'ma I'm Detective Lucy Chen I got a call about a noise complaint, I say. Everything's fine ma'ma. Are you sure, you look a little roughed up, I say. I'm sure, she says. My eyes start scanning the house and I see a little girl in a corner looking at me. Come here sweetie, I say to the girl. She walks over to me and stands in front of me. Hi my names Lucy what's yours, I ask the girl. She looks like she hasn't eaten in days, her hair isn't brushed out and her clothes are cut up and dirty. Maddie, she whispers. I slide her my card without her mother noticing, call me if anything happens okay, I whisper to her. She just nods her head. I walk away from the house knowing I'll be back.
I'm on lunch break and I'm sitting at the table with most of the gang at the station(including the Branford's) when I get a call.
