A thick envelope hit Sevyn's thigh as she sat on the couch watching kitchen nightmares once again.
It had been two days since they had crashed Kat's date and Ethan seemed over it by the end of the night.
"What's this?" She questioned her father who stood in front of her.
"It's for Leslie, can you go drop it off for me?" Benny requested.
She furrowed her brows. "This money?"
"Is the sky blue?"
The Gain's girl didn't bother answering her dad, only rolling her eyes.
"And tell Rue I said get yo shit together!" Benny yelled as Sevyn walked out the door.
Zero entered the living room. "What was that about?"
"Damn yall niggas ask so many fuckin' questions." The bald man sighed, lighting his blunt.
"Hey, it's better to be aware than to not know anything." Zero shrugged.
"I saw that man you and your sister were talkin' bout the other day, Jacob's was his last name?"
"Yeah, that's Nate's dad, Maddy's ex."
"I think he might be onto Fez or somethin'. Goin' round askin' Sevyn questions 'n shit."
"How you know?"
"I still got access to security cameras. I cant put too much trust in yall to run the shops."
Zero smacked his lips. "You don't gotta worry 'bout that old ass man pops."
Benny took a hit of his blunt. "Yeah, we'll see."
Sevyn walked into the Bennetts's household, having a key from when she used to stay with them. The house was empty, only seeing a focused Gia at the kitchen table doing her homework.
"Sup, G." She greeted the younger girl.
Gia turned around and gave Sevyn a smile and stood up to give her a hug. "Hi, Sev."
"Yo mom's home? Dad made me come drop this off." She said holding up the envelope.
"You just missed her." The younger girl frowned.
"Fuck, well put this in her room when you get a chance, I know studying is a lot."
"Well when you're trying not to become a failure you're always studying. No parties, no more drugs, no friends."
Sevyn's smile fell as she her Gia express herself. She was still young and still had so much life ahead of her.
"Gia, you're not gonna become a failure. Look at yourself, if you spend all your time studying you're gonna rot."
Gia shut her computer. "How do you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Have a life and still be one of the top scholars in school. Straight a's and always passing your classes."
