Chapter 5
━━━━━━━━ ✥ ━━━━━━━━ADHARA LEFT WITHOUT SAYING GOODBYE. She thought Millie might have said something before she followed her, but Adhara didn't wait for her. She walked quickly back towards the abandoned building.
"We probably could've taken the kid."
Adhara shook her head. "It's be cruel to take him away from her. He's too attached."
Millie hastily followed her, but remained behind her. Perhaps she understood that Adhara needed time to herself.
"She's not wrong, you know."
Of course, Adhara knew. And that was what made her so much more angry. It wasn't fair.
"You know how squibs are treated. They need someone in their corner. And the Ministry will just replace Matron with someone worse."
"Sirius will own the place. He can choose who to put in charge."
"You sound so sure."
"I am."
When they climbed through the broken window for the second time that night, Millicent hopped off the sill and landed right next to Adhara. The blue haired girl turned to get a look at her, and if she saw Adhara quickly wipe her eyes, she didn't comment on it.
"Come on," said Millicent. "Let's get something to eat before going back."
"It's the middle of the night. All the shops are closed."
She shrugged. "Then let's wait until one opens. We can go home after."
"We're meant to return before anyone wakes up."
"We'll just say we went to get coffee."
━━━━
They did say they went to get coffee when Molly Weasley caught them coming in through the front door.
She stood in front of them, hands on her hips, red in the face. "Where have you two been?"
Adhara sipped on her large to-go cup. They stashed the broom in a bush in the front yard, covered in the invisibility cloak.
"Got coffee."
Molly Weasley crossed her arms. "And if someone saw you?"
Millie shrugged. "Why would anyone recognize us? And we're wearing muggle clothes."
Molly Weasley was not having it. "Do you two not understand the gravity of the situation? You could've been in danger! Could've put us all, could've put Harry in danger! What if someone had followed you—"
"If someone had followed us," cut in Adhara, "then they would have been confounded by the Fidelius charm. You do know how that works, don't you?"
Molly Weasley looked at her with her round eyes, obviously taken aback by Adhara's retort. Or by the fact that the girl decided to actually talk back.
Adhara took another sip of her ice coffee, and climbed up the stairs. Millicent followed her.
━━━━
Sirius has rarely witnessed Adhara's anger. She wasn't like Harry and him in that matter. Her anger wasn't explosive like theirs, or gradual like Remus'. But it was just as impactful and it always hit the mark.
