Chapter 22
━━━━━━━━ ✥ ━━━━━━━━

A BIT LATER, ARTHUR AND MOLLY LEFT TO MINGLE WITH OTHER PARENTS Their older sons followed to join their friends, with Bill and Charlie meeting with their previous professors.

"You know who you should add to the list?" exclaimed Ronald all of a sudden.

Remus was the first to turn to him. The mention of the acromantula answered some of Remus' unanswered questions. He now knew why the poor lad's boggart was one. As the list went on and on, Remus' blood pressure only rose. He wondered what else the boy deemed important to add.

"Bertha Jorkins," declared Ronald with a shudder. "The woman gives me the creeps."

Hermione raised a brow. "You've met her once."

"Three times, actually. And that was enough." He shrugged, "It's her eyes, I'm telling you."

Hermione rolled her eyes.

Ginevra chimed in. "He isn't wrong. Dad introduced her to me on the day of the World Cup. So, I actually met her."

"And?"

"And, well." She glanced around. "I know this sounds strange but she felt familiar? I don't know, it was the way she talked. And with the way she kept staring at me, as though we've already met before."

"It's her eyes!" exclaimed Ronald, once more. "They're just so blue. I can't explain it."

"I thought her eyes were grey?" added Sirius.

"No, definitely blue. Oh! And, weirdly enough, Harry's scar started to sting when she came up to the top box."

Adhara whipped her head around. "What?"

"What?"

"Harry's scar hurt?"

"Yes? I just said that?"

"His scar hurt when Bertha Jorkins was near?"

"I know, right? Isn't that strange?"

"Stra...Ron, the only other person around whom his scar hurt was Quirrel. You know, the man who was possessed by Voldemort?"

Realisation dawned on Remus slowly. He didn't even know that Harry's scar could hurt. He turned to Sirius, who looked just as perturbed.

Silence fell. Ronald started to stammer.

"Adhara," Remus tapped her on her shoulder, "you don't think..."

Adhara glanced at him briefly before turning to Sirius. "We need to find Bertha Jorkins. Now."

Sirius, instead of responding right away, looked at him first.

Remus remembered last summer when they first brought Harry back to the cottage. When Sirius was stalling to pick Adhara up. Remus remembered what he was thinking, he remembered how he believed Sirius stalled because he saw his brother in Adhara.

Turned out, Remus was right. Sirius did see Regulus in Adhara. The same way as he saw James in Harry. But whereas Remus used to believe Sirius stalled because he didn't want to help her since he disliked his brother, the reality was that Sirius stalled because he didn't want to make a mistake with her, as he did with Regulus.

Sirius didn't make any mistakes with James, so there was nothing to mess up with Harry. With Adhara, it was a different question.

"Alright," Sirius told Adhara, "we'll go get her." He looked at the rest of the kids. "You five should stay here. Remus and I will go find her."
