Chapter 4
━━━━━━━━ ✥ ━━━━━━━━ADHARA WAS CAMPING OUT AT YARITZA'S ROOM AGAIN. For the first time that summer, the Furnace Room was empty, which explained Matron's even worse mood today.
She was on a hunt, which meant Adhara was hiding.
She managed to stay out of the Furnace Room so far this summer, and she did not fancy playing with fire anytime soon.
Yaritza was convinced that Adhara was the trigger to Matron's recent viciousness. A theory that was proven correct every time she crossed paths with the woman, which wasn't completely unavoidable. When Matron would normally brutally berate anyone who looked at her wrong, with Adhara, she turned her whole attention to the girl only. Speaking to her in that threatening soft voice that made Adhara's skin crawl.
Yaritza helped to keep her hidden. Alerting her when the woman was nearby, or even hiding food in the kitchen for Adhara to eat later, so she didn't have to join everyone else at dinner time.
However, with Matron always on Yaritza's tail, staying in her room wasn't always an option. Adhara did stay in her own room most nights, but sometimes, Yaritza shoved her into the bedroom of another Aleyne kid, assuring her that this one was trustworthy.
Thomas, who normally clung to Yaritza like a leech, had finally unlatched from her. Apparently, realising that the girl was now busier than before, he accepted the fact for what it was and let her go.
Only to cling onto Adhara.
There was also Roisin, who must have noticed what Yaritza was doing because she seemed to be aiding her as well. But unlike Yaritza, Roisin mostly kept the other kids away, making sure no one was snitching. While, also, kept a lookout for herself, of course, since she was the perfect target for Jakob Gamp.
She kept an eye out for trouble, notifying Adhara about anything she judged as suspicious.

Harry rolled out of Mrs Figgs fireplace, covered in soot from both of his floo trips today. The woman was in her rocking chair, knitting needles in hand and a colourfully patterned scarf in her lab. She looked at Harry with a hand on her chest and her mouth agape.
"'Lo Mrs Figgs! Sorry for the intru—"
Ron appeared behind him, bumping into Harry's back.
"Bloody hell, Harry! You're meant to get out of the fireplace, you know?"
"Sorry—"
George came next, landing right on top of Ron. "Clear the way, Godric! First time using the floo, Ronnie?"
"That's what I was just saying to Harry!"
"Well, get a move on, then!"
"Guys, I think we should—"
Thud!
"Oi! What the fuck, George?"
━━━━
Harry landed safely on the roof. Well, as safe as one could be standing on a roof with no railing to prevent any accidents.
"Are you sure this is it?"
"Positive. I've been here before."
Harry was glad it was a weekday because it meant most people were at work and so the houses in the residential areas were mostly empty. Hopefully. Either way, the Gryffindors tried their best to avoid muggle onlookers and it took them around fifteen minutes to reach Aleyne.
