Precap:- And she went from there and sat in the nearby taxi. Anuj saw this and went back to Shruti after talking to Priya. She quickly went caught the taxi and reached her home.

Anupama closed the door behind her with a resounding thud, the weight of the evening pressing heavily on her shoulders. She leaned against the door, closing her eyes as the events at the business conference played back in her mind like a cruel movie.

Seeing Anuj again had been a shock, but it was the introduction to his fiancée, Shruti, that had shattered her. Anuj had stood there, looking as composed as ever, while Shruti, with her kind eyes and warm smile, had extended a hand toward Anupama.

"I'm so happy to finally meet you," Shruti had said, her voice brimming with genuine warmth.

Anupama had managed a tight smile, shaking Shruti's hand. "Nice to meet you too," she had replied, the words tasting bitter on her tongue.

Now, in the quiet solitude of her home, Anupama's composure crumbled. She slid down to the floor, burying her face in her hands as sobs wracked her body. She had never stopped loving Anuj. Their divorce had been a mutual decision, a practical choice given their differences. But her love for him had never faded, and seeing him with Shruti had ripped open old wounds she thought had healed.

Anupama tried to steady her breathing, but the memories flooded back with relentless force. The way Anuj had looked at her, the pain in his eyes barely concealed behind his polite smile, had told her everything she needed to know. He still loved her too. But it was his daughter, Aadhya, who had dictated his choices.

Anupama's mind flashed back to their last conversation before the divorce. Anuj had been resolute. "Aadhya needs stability, a mother figure," he had said, his voice firm but his eyes betraying his inner turmoil. "I can't let her down."

Anupama understood his reasons. She respected them. But it didn't make the pain any less real.

Meanwhile, across town, Anuj sat in the darkness of his living room, a glass of whiskey in his hand. The house was silent, save for the soft murmurs of Aadhya sleeping in her room. Shruti had gone to bed early, exhausted from the day's events. Anuj envied her ability to find peace so easily.

He took a long sip of the whiskey, the burn a welcome distraction from his thoughts. Seeing Anupama again had been like reopening an old wound. He had thought he was past this, that he had moved on. But the sight of her had stirred emotions he had buried deep within himself.

Anuj looked around the dimly lit room, his thoughts a jumbled mess. He had made the right decision for Aadhya, he reminded himself. Shruti was wonderful with her, providing the motherly care and stability that Aadhya needed. But no matter how much he tried to rationalize it, he couldn't ignore the aching void in his heart.

His phone buzzed on the table beside him, a message from Shruti: "Are you okay? You seemed a bit off tonight. Love you."

He stared at the message, his vision blurring with tears he refused to let fall. He typed a quick response, assuring her that he was fine, that he loved her too. But even as he sent the message, he knew it was only partially true. He cared for Shruti deeply, but his love for Anupama was a fire that still burned within him.

Anuj finished his drink and poured another, the alcohol barely numbing the pain. He walked over to the window, looking out at the city lights, a blur in his unfocused vision. He had chosen this path for Aadhya's sake, but he couldn't help but question it now.

In her own home, Anupama had cried herself to exhaustion. She lay on the couch, staring at the ceiling, her mind numb. The pain was still there, but it was muted now, a dull ache instead of a sharp stab.

She thought about Anuj, about the life they had shared and the dreams they had once had. She had loved him with all her heart, and part of her always would. But she knew she had to let him go. For her own sake, and for his.

Taking a deep breath, she sat up, wiping the tears from her face. She couldn't change the past, but she could shape her future. And she knew that future couldn't include Anuj. At least, not in the way she wanted.

As the first light of dawn filtered through the windows, Anupama made a promise to herself. She would find her own path, one that didn't depend on anyone else. It would be hard, and it would hurt, but she would survive. She had to.

Across town, Anuj faced the coming day with a new resolve. He would be there for Aadhya, and he would try to build a life with Shruti. But he would also honor the love he still felt for Anupama, even if it meant carrying that love as a quiet ache in his heart forever.
