Anupama barely had time to breathe before another wave of chaos swept over her life. The morning had started off with its usual routine—feeding Anuj his breakfast, doing his physiotherapy, and trying to balance the needs of her children. But then, just as she thought she might be able to catch a break, the unexpected happened.

It started with Aadhymaan. She had been feeding him his morning porridge when she noticed his forehead was hot to the touch. Her heart immediately skipped a beat as she checked his temperature—102°F.

"Aadhymaan?" Anupama's voice trembled as she gently laid him back in his crib. He whined, his little hands reaching for her desperately. She rushed to him, cradling him close, her mind racing. "Why now?" she whispered, her exhaustion creeping into her bones.

Just as she was about to call for help, Aadhya walked in, looking pale and drawn. "Maa, I don't feel well either," she said quietly, clutching her stomach. Anupama's eyes widened with panic.

Both children, sick? It was as though the universe was testing her resolve. She needed to act quickly.

"Aadhya, come here," she urged, setting Aadhymaan back on his crib, trying to keep him calm. "Let me check your temperature."

Aadhya collapsed beside her mother, groaning as she pulled her hand away from her forehead. "I'm burning up, Maa."

Anupama immediately rushed to grab the thermometer. Aadhya's temperature was also high. "This can't be happening," Anupama muttered to herself, her mind spinning with the pressure of trying to manage everything.

"Anupama, what happened?" Meera's voice came from behind her, concern filling the air. Rajesh appeared soon after, noticing Aadhymaan's feverish state.

"Both Aadhymaan and Aadhya have fevers, Maa. I'm so scared," Anupama's voice shook as she held Aadhymaan close again. Her heart ached seeing her children in pain, especially when she could do so little to help them at the moment.

Meera immediately sprang into action, rushing to fetch the medicine and a cool compress for Aadhymaan. Rajesh went to Aadhya's side, trying to comfort her.

"Anupama, you need to take care of yourself too," Rajesh said, seeing the worry written all over her face. "Let us handle Anuj for now. You focus on the kids."

Anupama nodded, grateful for their support, but her heart was heavy with the weight of everything. She couldn't bear seeing her children suffer, and she couldn't stand the thought of Anuj's condition either.

Aadhymaan only wanted his mother, and though he could barely open his eyes, he reached for Anupama again. His little hand grasped at her shirt, and Anupama's heart broke as she held him against her chest, trying to comfort him despite her own mounting fears.

Meera and Rajesh worked efficiently to care for Anuj, assisting him with his physiotherapy exercises and feeding him when he could manage small bites. Rajesh helped Anupama, but his focus was on her well-being as much as the others. He could see how much Anupama was wearing herself thin, trying to juggle everything.

Suddenly, her phone rang, and she quickly answered it. Her eyes widened when she saw who was calling—it was her lawyer.

"Anupama," the voice on the other end said, sounding uncomfortably formal. "I have some news. The court date for Maya has been postponed. It will not be heard for another month."

"What?" Anupama's voice faltered. "Postponed? But... that means she's still in jail, right? She's still behind bars?"

"Yes, she is," the lawyer confirmed. "However, she's not yet facing any punishment. The court needs time to process her case fully. For now, Maya remains in custody, but there's no definite decision about her future yet."

Anupama was silent for a moment, processing what she had just heard. Maya—still in jail, still a threat, and no punishment yet. It felt like the world had tilted sideways.

"How can that be possible?" Anupama's voice cracked with disbelief. "She tried to kill Anuj... and I..."

"I know, Anupama," the lawyer interrupted gently. "But the court is reviewing everything. They want to make sure they have all the facts in place before proceeding."

Anupama hung up, her frustration boiling over. She stepped into Anuj's room and found Meera and Rajesh attending to him, making sure he was comfortable. Seeing her agitated, Rajesh looked up.

"What happened?" Rajesh asked.

"The court postponed Maya's trial... again," Anupama said, her voice tight. "She's still not getting any punishment for everything she's done."

Rajesh's face darkened. "This is getting out of hand, Anupama."

Anupama collapsed into a chair beside Anuj's bed, feeling utterly defeated. She ran a hand through her hair, her body slumping with exhaustion. "How long are we going to keep going like this?"

As Anupama sat there, trying to steady her nerves, her mind started to race again—feeling the pull between the endless responsibilities of being a mother, a wife, and a caretaker. Aadhymaan and Aadhya needed her, Anuj needed her, but what about her? When would she get a chance to rest?

Later that day, after Anupama had taken care of her children and calmed Aadhymaan's fever with a cool bath, she went back into the room to find Anuj trying to sit up.

"Anuj? What are you doing?" Anupama asked gently, rushing to his side to help.

Anuj looked at her weakly, his eyes tired but determined. "I... I need to try. I need to be stronger for you."

Anupama's heart clenched as she helped him lie back down, her eyes full of affection, though tinged with sadness. "Anuj, you're already strong. You've been through so much."

He reached out, his fingers trembling, and gently cupped her cheek. "Not strong enough for you. You've done so much for me, Anu. I can't let you do everything."

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she kissed his hand, holding it to her face. "We'll get through this together. You'll be okay, Anuj. I know it."

Later that night, after everything had settled down and both Aadhya and Aadhymaan were resting, Anupama sat by Anuj's side, quietly reflecting. The day had been another long one, but in the silence, something was different. Her exhaustion had turned into resolve. The situation was dire, and the weight of everything was overwhelming, but she couldn't give up. She couldn't let everything she had worked for slip away now.

There was still so much to be done—so much healing to be had. And she would stand by Anuj's side, no matter what.
