The tension in the bedroom was suffocating, thick and heavy like a storm about to break. Anuj paced back and forth, his frustration boiling over, the fight with Anupama refusing to end. His voice, sharp with anger, echoed against the walls, filling the space with every bitter word.

"You don't get it, do you, Anupama?" Anuj spat, his eyes blazing with hurt and frustration. "You think you understand everything, but you don't! You're always defending her, always taking her side, as if I'm the enemy here!"

Anupama sat on the edge of the bed, her face pale, her breathing shallow. She tried to focus on his words, but her body felt as if it were betraying her. Since giving birth to Aadhymaan six months ago, she had struggled to regain her mental strength. Physically, she was stronger, but her mind was still fragile, vulnerable to the weight of their constant fighting. She wanted to speak, to explain, but the words wouldn't come.

"Anuj, please..." she whispered, her voice barely audible. Her hands trembled as she pressed them against her chest, trying to calm her racing heart. The pressure was too much, the weight of his words crushing her, suffocating her.

"You always act like I'm the bad guy!" Anuj continued, unaware of her struggle, too consumed by his own anger. "I'm trying to protect our daughter, to be a good father, and you—"

Suddenly, Anupama's breath hitched, her chest tightening painfully. She gasped, her vision blurring, and a wave of dizziness washed over her. Her heart pounded in her ears, loud and frantic, as if it were trying to escape her body. She pressed a hand to her head, her fingers shaking.

"Anuj..." she murmured weakly, her voice barely a whisper now. But he didn't hear her. He was still speaking, his words distant and blurred as her panic attack took over.

Her body began to tremble uncontrollably, her breath coming in short, shallow gasps. Her vision darkened at the edges, her hands gripping the bedsheets as if they were the only thing keeping her tethered to reality. She felt like she was drowning, her mind spiraling into chaos, and her body unable to cope.

"Anuj!" she tried again, this time louder, but her voice cracked, breaking under the strain.

It wasn't until he heard the thud of something falling that Anuj turned around. His heart dropped into his stomach when he saw her—Anupama, pale and trembling, clutching her chest as if she couldn't breathe. Her eyes were wide with fear, her body slumped against the bed as if she had no strength left to hold herself up.

"Anu!" he shouted, rushing towards her, all the anger draining from him in an instant.

But before he could reach her, the sharp cry of Aadhymaan echoed from the nursery. His wails pierced the room, his distress loud and clear, but Anupama was too weak, too consumed by her own panic, to move. She looked toward the door, her eyes filled with helplessness, but her body refused to cooperate.

"I...I can't..." she whispered, her voice trembling, her chest heaving with every shallow breath.

Anuj hesitated for a moment, torn between his wife and his son. But Anupama's wide, panicked eyes told him everything he needed to know—she couldn't do this right now. She needed him to take care of their son.

Without another word, Anuj rushed into the nursery, scooping up the crying baby into his arms. He rocked Aadhymaan gently, his heart pounding in his chest as the baby's cries slowly began to soften. "Shh, it's okay, buddy. Daddy's here," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. The fight, the anger, all of it was forgotten in this moment. All that mattered was calming his son and making sure Anupama was okay.

Once Aadhymaan was settled, his tiny body relaxing against Anuj's chest, Anuj laid him gently in his crib, making sure he was sound asleep before returning to the bedroom.

But when he walked back in, his heart clenched painfully at the sight of Anupama. She hadn't moved. She was still sitting on the edge of the bed, her breathing labored, her face pale and drenched in cold sweat. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and her hands were shaking uncontrollably.

"Anupama..." Anuj's voice broke as he rushed to her side, kneeling in front of her, his hands gently cradling her face. "I'm here, I'm here. It's okay. Breathe, please, just breathe."

She looked at him, her eyes filled with pain and fear, but she nodded weakly, trying to follow his instructions. He could feel the tremor in her body, see the panic still gripping her, and it shattered him to know that he was part of the reason she was like this.

"I'm so sorry, Anu," he whispered, his voice cracking as tears welled in his own eyes. "I didn't mean to push you like this. I should've... I should've seen how much you were struggling. I'm so sorry."

Anupama's lips trembled, and she closed her eyes, too exhausted to respond. The panic attack had drained the last bit of energy from her, and her body gave out, her muscles going limp in Anuj's hands.

Just then, the door swung open, and both sets of parents—Sushma and Madhav, and Rajesh and Meera—rushed into the room, their faces etched with worry.

"Anupama!" Sushma gasped, running toward her daughter, her eyes wide with panic.

"What happened?" Rajesh demanded, looking between Anuj and the unconscious form of his daughter-in-law.

"She's...she's not well," Anuj stammered, his hands trembling as he gently laid Anupama back against the pillows. "She had a panic attack. I didn't...I didn't realize..." His voice trailed off, the guilt weighing heavily on him.

"We need to call the doctor," Meera said quickly, already pulling out her phone.

As Sushma sat on the bed beside her daughter, stroking her hair gently, Anuj couldn't tear his eyes away from Anupama's pale face. She looked so fragile, so vulnerable, and it killed him inside to know that his anger had pushed her to this point.

Minutes later, the doctor was on his way, but for Anuj, time seemed to stand still. He sat beside Anupama, holding her hand, his mind replaying the fight over and over again, each harsh word a dagger in his heart.

"I'm sorry, Anu," he whispered again, his voice breaking as tears spilled down his cheeks. "I didn't mean for it to get this far. Please...please be okay."

But Anupama remained unconscious, her breathing shallow, her body limp against the bed. And in that moment, Anuj realized just how much he had taken her strength for granted. He had been so consumed by his own fear and anger that he hadn't seen how much she was struggling.

Now, as he sat there holding her hand, surrounded by the concerned faces of their parents, all he could do was wait—wait and hope that she would wake up, that she would be okay.

But deep down, he knew that things would never be the same again. The cracks in their relationship had widened, and now they had to face the painful truth that love alone might not be enough to heal them.
