"He's over two hours late."

"Do you think something happened?"

"No way, we were careful."

You groaned as you came to, just catching the end of their conversation because they clammed up when they noticed you were awake.

"What?" You scrunched your eyebrows, trying to ignore your pounding headache, "No breakfast in bed?"

"Shut up!" Ziggy yelled.

"Hey, where's Vin Diesel?" You thought out loud, "Oh my god, did someone use tree as firewood? This is devastating."

"When he gets back," Ziggy pointed at you, looking extremely angry, "I'm gonna let him kill you."

"Brenda would never."

"Do yourself a favor, Y/n," Brenda looked over, face showing defeat, "And shut the fuck up."

"That's always been an issue with me," You admitted with a sigh, "I knew it'd be my end."

"Can I just kill her?" Ziggy asked Brenda, turning to walk over to you, "I'm gonna kill her."

"Not yet." Brenda stopped him, putting an arm against his chest.

"We've gotta wait for tree." You nodded and Brenda rolled his eyes.

Inside you were panicking like there was no tomorrow because let's face it, there probably won't be.

Since we have some time to kill before tree gets back, let's talk background.

Before the avengers took you in like a lost lamb with wolf teeth, you were on the run. You had lost your family at the hands of Hydra, who are still looking for you apparently, damn you one popular bitch, and for almost six years you were on your own. Using your powers only when absolutely necessary after a few incidents with criminals that instead of just capturing them for the police actually killed them, but other than that you kept under the radar. For a while, you lived above a Chinese restaurant, but when Hydra found you, they killed the owner and you made sure not to stay anywhere longer than a month.

Nick Fury found you when you were aiding in the battle of New York without the others knowing. You kept to a certain area and one of your powers became really useful when you almost ran into Steve and Clint, but more on that another time. This was right after your parents died and you were fighting nonstop until it wasn't only Nick Fury who was on your ass following the conclusion of that battle.

You even watched Iron Man fall from the sky and it felt like your world stopped when the Hulk caught him. Thinking he was dead, you approached cautiously, tears stinging your eyes and you searched frantically for a sign that it wasn't true. You were about a block away when you felt him come back, so you left, calling the day a brutal success.

Nick Fury tracked you down after that and when he saw you fleeing a random town for probably the thirtieth time, he confronted you. At first, you assumed he was Hydra, so you readied your powers, even going as far as pointing his own gun at his temple. He explained and proved who he was which followed by you apologizing. He was completely understanding and impressed with what you could do and why you were so cautious.

So, you joined.

But you know how the rest of that went.

Right now, as you nurse a migraine that puts the average headaches to shame and a few broken ribs, you focus on Natasha.

At first, it was the avengers as a whole and that worked for a little while but focusing on her kept you going for hours.

You thought of every detail.
