Pepper asked if you wanted to join them for a drink, but you didn't have to look over at Tony to know this wasn't the time to third wheel. You told her something about being tired, which wasn't untrue, Tony thanked you for the help, and you made an exit.
You were torn up inside, feeling the utter exhaustion from two back to back missions, and just needing to know Natasha wasn't still pissed at you.
Not that you'd blame her, but even with your body physically drained of all energy, you wouldn't be able to sleep without making sure she'd be able to forgive you eventually.
You found yourself heading to her room and she left the door unlocked, half expecting you to come back and argue with her, but it was now three in the morning and she was fast asleep. You crept in, shedding your suit as you went, promising yourself you'd clean it up in the morning, and slipping under the covers. The pillow she laid her head on was stained and you realized she had been crying.
Your heart broke into a million pieces.
You moved to wrap your arms around her, placing a light kiss to her neck and burying your face in her hair. It had been forever since you slept next to her, not trusting yourself, but right now you needed to risk it, and you've been improving vastly so it wasn't that much of a gamble.
"Y/n?" She whispered in a raspy voice, your movements waking her.
"I'm sorry for everything," You whispered back, squeezing your eyes shut to stop your own tears, "I love you and I don't wanna fight."
There was a long pause and you just prayed she wouldn't kick you out.
"I love you too."
You could almost laugh at how you relieved you felt in that moment and she wrapped herself around you too, pulling you impossibly closer.
~Small Time Skip~
This time you really did bring her breakfast in bed. She was still asleep around nine and you slipped out of her hold, pulled on some shorts and a tank top, determined to apologize properly.
"Good morning, young magician!" Thor boomed when you came into the kitchen and you smiled.
"Morning, Thundercat." You teased, nudging his hip with yours when you needed the cabinet he was in front of.
"You're in a good mood." Wanda observed out loud and you had yet to notice she was sitting in the corner at a small table.
"And why shouldn't I be?" You asked, taking the waffle mix out and throwing everything together.
Thor had broken into a box of pop tarts, and there was no slowing him down when he got into those things, watching happily as you both conversed.
"I want to practice my powers today, if you're up for it." You said suddenly.
"Sure," She nodded, sipping her tea, and judging you, "Can I ask what brought this on?"
"Can we start later today? Maybe around two?" You asked back instead.
"Okay, I'll meet you in there at two."
"Awesome," You smiled gratefully, cooking bacon and eggs while the waffles finished up, "Turn that up, Thunduh!"
Thor laughed before adjusting the volume on Wanda's phone nearby that was playing, 'Detroit Rock City' by Kiss. You started banging your head while Thor moved his shoulders back and forth, up and down, to the beat, making you chuckle.
After finishing up, both breakfast and the dancing, you brought a tray filled with eggs, bacon, waffles, fresh cut fruit, a muffin, and two glasses of orange juice back into Natasha room. Surprisingly, she was still asleep, and you kicked your suit to the side of the room before sitting criss cross on the bed, placing the tray between you both. You had put a small yellow flower on the tray, and you picked it up as you watched her sleep, biting it. You held it sideways in your mouth, making yourself chuckle, and finally waking the redhead.
