"I gotta call Steve."
When he took out his phone, you whipped it out of his hand and into yours without even eyeing it, making them both look at you with wide eyes.
"No." You whispered, and he looked at you incredulously.
"What the hell do you mean, no?"
"If you tell Steve, he'll do the right thing and tell Fury." You explained and Bruce nodded understandingly.
"It's better if Fury doesn't know," Bruce told him, agreeing with you, "At least not yet."
"If I ask him not to tell anyone, he won't." Bucky told you both confidently.
"I can't take that chance." You looked at him, pleading with your eyes, and he sighed, giving in with a nod that was barely visible.
"So, what do we do then?" He asked after a long moment.
"We monitor her." Bruce answered, looking directly at you, "We see what triggers it, if you can control it, and how we can prevent this from becoming a problem. Then after that, we can let the others know."
"Wanda knows." You told him and he nodded, going for his phone to call her.
You hopped back up on the table and reattached the wires the best you could. You started swinging your legs, avoiding Bucky's gaze because you felt like he was judging you, but this became increasingly difficult when he started walking over to you.
"Listen," He stopped about three feet away, "I'm sorry about how I reacted, doll, it's just that it scared me."
"It scares me too, Bucky." You gave him a tight smile and he smiled sadly.
"Did Hydra use this at all?" He asked so quietly you almost didn't hear him.
You looked down at your lap and let out a short laugh, finding yourself ridiculous for letting a tear slip. You pawed at your cheeks and then sighed.
"I'd rather not talk about Hydra." You used a cold tone, not meaning to sound so harsh, but it surprised him, and he went quiet.
"Okay," He whispered, "Okay."
Bruce got off the phone and came back over to you both.
"She'll be down in a few minutes."
~Small Time Skip~
"She was overloaded by the suffering in New York City that she became...like that?" Bucky asked after he heard the explanation from both Wanda and Bruce.
When Wanda came back, you grabbed her in a hug and apologized, explaining why you kept it from everyone. She forgave you instantly, realizing why you didn't tell her, and she got straight to work on helping you. Her and Bruce working tirelessly in trying to figure out what was going on while Bucky paced the room worried, made you realize that in this past month or more you've made impacts on people's lives. They're your family, you knew that, but you really started to see it through them today.
"She took on the feeling and it made her kind of break apart, in simple terms." Wanda nodded and Bucky looked between you both before coming to sit next to you on the table.
He put his arm around you, squeezing you comfortingly, and you looked up with a smile.
"I'm fine, Barnes." You smirked.
"She'll have to practice with me every day now," Wanda piped in when he didn't say anything, "But she'll be okay."
"I have to see your face every day?" You dramatically exclaimed, teasingly, and then when she rolled her eyes you laughed, "That might be more unbearable than the sadness covering this city...what? Too soon?"
