December 7th - Tuesday

Liam P.O.V.

I wait for Theo at the door while he finishes tying his shoes. Last night my dad managed to fix Theo's truck and get it working again, so I asked Theo to take me to Mason's before he went to work.

"Are you nervous?" He asks when we get to the truck.

"A little." I confess.

"It will go well, I'm sure." Theo stops the car so I can get out. "If you want, I can pick you up from school later."

"Thanks."

I get out of the car and Theo drives away. I take a deep breath and knock on Mason's door.

"Mason! Go open the door!" I hear Mason's mother scream and Mason mumble.

I hear Mason's footsteps approaching the door and I hold my breath. Mason opens the door and when he sees me his face twists in surprise. He looks tired and his eyes are sad.

"I'm really sorry." I say looking him in the eyes.

"I'm really sorry too." Mason smiles and hugs me tightly.

Over his shoulder I see Mason's mom and Corey rolling their eyes together with smiles on their faces.

"See son, it's that easy." They then walk away, leaving us alone.

"I'm sorry I didn't realize how you felt."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you what was going on. I was afraid you wouldn't understand."

"I still don't really like the idea of Theo living with you, but if you trust him I can get used to the idea."

"Thanks. It's important for me."

"I missed you, I have so much to tell you."

"I missed you too."

Mason goes into the house to get his backpack and calls Corey. The trip to school is lively and while they tell me about their days, I also tell them about my days with Theo.

"He puts the milk before the cereal?" Mason asks, shocked.

"Seriously, that was the most shocking thing you've heard?"

"Yes! That and the fact that he actually looks like a decent person."

"He is a decent person."

Of course I didn't tell Mason and Corey all the details, some things deserve to be kept just between me and Theo.

My first class is history, which makes me bored for the first time. I won't be with Mason or Corey and I'll have to see Nolan.

"Mr. Dunbar." The history teacher approaches me with a nervous smile. "I'm sorry about what happened yesterday, you can retake your test today."

I look at her confused and feel my cell phone vibrate in my pocket.

You can thank me later.

Whatever Theo said to the teacher, it worked like a charm.

Thanks, you don't need to pick me up, I'm going to Mason's house after school.

Okay, see you at home.

The rest of the morning goes on with tranquility, now that everything is fine with Mason and Corey I no longer feel the same weight in my chest as before.

"Hi." I sit next to them in the cafeteria at lunch.

"How did the test go?"

"Very well."

"So Liam, tell us what it's like living with Theo." Mason seems quite curious and the anger from the previous day has completely dissipated.

"It's actually good, I like his company. When he's not being a pain in the ass, Theo is quite fun."

Mason and Corey exchange a look and I see Mason's lips curve into a small smile.

"What?"

"Nothing, nothing."

"By the way." I start playing with my fingers. "Now that you know Theo is back and we don't have to worry about the war, I'd like you to at least try to get along with him. You are my best friends and he is too, so I would really like you to get along."

"Sure, we can try." Corey assures.

"But I don't promise anything." Mason adds and Corey rolls his eyes. "Does Scott know he's back?"

Shit. I tottaly forgot about that.

"No. But please don't tell him, he'll feel like he needs to come here and I don't want to bother him."

"Okay, but don't hide that for to long."

After lunch we headed to the lacrosse field, Corey and I were going to practice and Mason was going to watch us from the stands. Corey says goodbye to Mason with a quick kiss.

"Get your lazy asses moving and start warming up!" Coach shouts when all the players are on the field. "I want ten laps around the field and whoever runs slower than my grandmother will have to do twenty push ups. Yes, I'm talking to you, Greenberg."

Some laugh, others grumble. Corey and I start running side by side, Nolan runs past us and bumps his body against mine.

My day is going too well for him to ruin it, so I ignore him. Corey and I started running faster and quickly overtook him, continuing ahead until the end.

"Very good! You should all be like Dunbar and Bryant!" Coach shouts, waving a lacrosse stick in his hand and Corey and I high-five each other. Mason on the bench starts clapping and shouting nonsense.

"What, a freak and an IED bomb?" Nolan whispers to a friend and they both laugh.

"What did you say Holloway?" The coach approaches him and points the stick to his nose.

"Nothing, coach."

"That's what I thought. Now, divide into two teams and play! The team that loses has to pack all the materials and wash the entire team's clothes!" The players grumble. "What are you waiting for? Go on!"

The practice went well, since Nolan was on my team so he didn't bother me too much. We win, which makes the other half of the team give us death glares.

I change my clothes as quickly as possible with Corey so we can leave without being approached by Nolan. Mason is waiting for us in the car and as soon as he sees us he starts clapping again.

"Here are the best lacrosse players in Beacon Hills." He shouts with his hands in front of his face, attracting the attention of some students. "I have the hottest boyfriend ever!"

"Love..." Corey's cheeks turn red and he gets into the car to escape the curious eyes of the students.

When we arrive at Mason's house we run to his room and throw ourselves on his bed. Mason puts on a movie but we don't pay much attention to it, spending most of the time talking or laughing, or in my case, eating Mason's secret stash of cookies.

When I look at my friends, I smile, I missed them.
