December 13th - Monday (Full moon)
Liam P.O.V.
Neither me nor Theo slept last night, me because I was affected by the arrival of the moon and Theo because he was trying to calm me down. If it weren't for him I would have completely lost my mind. I can't help but notice that I'm much calmer than the last times.
"Will you pick me up from school today?"
"Of course Little Wolf." Theo starts eating the pancakes that my mother put on his plate.
"And will you stay by my side when the night comes?"
"I would never leave you alone."
Harper enters the kitchen dressed in a coat and gloves.
"How are you dressed like that?" I ask, looking at my t-shirt and jeans.
"It's winter Liam, I'm not a werewolf who doesn't feel the cold, like you."
"Right, I forgot."
The three of us leave the house, Harper gets into her car saying she would be back this afternoon and Theo and I get into his truck to take me to school.
"Do I really have to go?" I hide my face in my hands feeling the wolf inside me trying to take control.
"You will have a math test. You have to go. Try to relax."
"I can't."
I feel Theo's hand grab mine and his thumb draws circles on the back of my hand. I feel a goosebump run down my spine and a sudden rush of comfort.
"Better?"
"Better."
"If you need me, call me." Theo parks in the school lot and waits for me to get out of the car.
My body doesn't move, the only place I want to be is inside this car.
"It will be okay." Theo comforts me.
I look at the backseat and see Theo's blue sweater.
"Can I take your sweater?" I ask, not looking him in the eyes. "I'm cold."
"Sure."
I reach into the backseat and grab his sweater and put it on. Theo's scent fills my lungs and the wolf inside me calms down.
"Bye, Little Wolf."
"Bye, Big Wolf."
I get out of the car and Theo starts the truck again, as soon as he leaves I facepalm. Werewolves don't feel cold. I'm a terrible liar.
I find Mason and Corey near their lockers and as soon as he sees me, Mason puts his hand to his forehead like a damsel in distress.
"Corey, my love, please hold me, I think I'm going to faint."
"What?" My face distorts in confusion and Mason and Corey look at me with questioning looks.
"Is that Theo's sweater?"
"Why do you think that?"
"First, because it's too big for you, and second, because we saw him use it last week."
"Okay, it's his sweater, what's the problem?"
"No, none."
Mason and Corey exchange a look and I feel anger bubbling up inside me.
"What's with the looks now? I don't understand."
I don't give them time to answer and walk away. I can't risk losing control around them and hurting them. I enter the boys' bathroom and focus my attention on Theo's smell. My breathing normalizes again until I feel a familiar smell enter the bathroom.
"Look who it is." Nolan stands behind me and I watch him in the mirror's reflection. "It's a full moon Dunbar, what are you going to do? Kill us all?"
If Nolan thinks I'm going to let it affect me, he's very wrong. I take a deep breath and turn to him so close that my breath hits his face. I push him against the wall and grab him by the collar of his shirt, lifting his feet off the floor.
"Don't forget who you're talking to, Nolan." I drop him and let him fall to the floor, leaving the bathroom immediately.
Bringing Theo's sweater was the best decision I made today, if his smell hadn't been calming me down I probably would have taken Nolan's head off.
I take the test and when I sit in the cafeteria with Mason and Corey I feel completely calm. I think everything will be completely fine.
I spoke too soon.
My phone rings and I see Harper's name appear on the screen. When I answer I hear her heartbeat racing.
"We have a problem."
"What's wrong?"
"Scott, Malia, Stiles and Lydia are in Beacon Hills."
My heart falls to my feet. I don't feel the happiness I should feel knowing that my friends are back, instead I feel scared.
"Theo..."
"I know, I'm taking care of it, I tried calling him but he didn't answer so I'm going to wait for him at the library. Scott called me and he said he's going to pick you up from school to surprise you, he wants to be by your side during the full moon."
"I said it wasn't necessary."
"I know, but he cares about you, and you know. I'll take Theo home, you just have to keep the pack away from your house so they don't smell Theo."
"Okay."
I hang up the call and am met with worried looks from Mason and Corey. Only now do I realize that my breathing is unsteady.
"Scott is back."
"That... That's good, right?"
"Yes... but Theo is here and if they find out they will be furious, they hate him."
"Don't worry, they won't find out." Corey tries to calm me down. "But you better take off the sweater or they'll smell Theo on you."
But the problem is bigger than that, Theo won't spend the full moon with me.
When it's time to leave I can already hear the voices of Scott, Malia, Stiles and Lydia in the parking lot. I do my best to look surprised to see my friends in the parking lot, and I can blame the full moon for my weird behavior.
"Liam!" Scott comes to me and hugs me tightly. "We missed you."
"I missed you too, but there was no need for you to come."
"We weren't going to leave you alone on a full moon, silly." Stiles says hugging me too.
"Where are we staying?" I ask.
"At mine." Lydia approaches me with a smile. "Harper will meet us there with your favorite foods."
I nod and try to be excited, but it's impossible. I get into Scott's car with him and Malia. Corey and Mason go in Stiles' jeep, with him and Lydia. Anxiety starts to eat me alive and now that I don't even have Theo's scent to calm me down, I feel like I'm going to lose control at any moment. I feel Scott's gaze on me through the rearview mirror and I fake a smile.
"You smell weird." Malia looks at me and I feel my claws show up, aswell as my fangs. "Scott...I don't think he's okay."
"Liam, calm down." Scott stops the car in front of Lydia's house and I get out. "Liam."
I fall to my knees and start growling, the wolf finally taking control, the next thing I know, Scott is dragging me inside the house and taking me to the basement.
