December 17th - Friday

Liam P.O.V.

The rain falls heavily outside, I pull the blanket over my head and groan. My head is aching and tiredness is eating me alive. I didn't sleep, the mere idea that Theo might need me left me wide awake. I can still smell the blood and feel his icy touch.

I hear Theo talking to my parents in the kitchen about finishing high school. My parents are more than happy and promise they will talk to the school principal for him.

Today is the last day of school before Christmas break and it will also be one of the most important lacrosse games. I decided to skip all my classes before the game for two reasons.

Theo isn't going to work today.

I don't feel like going.

My parents accepted knowing that I was very affected by the previous day but they made me promise that I wouldn't miss the game.

I hate rainy days, there's not only a storm inside my head but also a storm next to me. My heart sinks and I wrap the blanket tighter around my body in an attempt to find some comfort. I hear footsteps in the hallway and I feel Theo's scent grow stronger. I don't move, the anxiety in my body doesn't make me want to get up.

I pay attention to Theo's steps that stop when he gets close to his bedroom door. The smell of happiness disappears and is replaced by worry.

"Liam." I hear two knocks on the door and I take my head out from under the blanket. "Can I come in?"

"Yes."

Theo doesn't take long to enter, placing himself in front of me in two seconds.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm just tired, I didn't sleep."

"Why?"

"Just couldn't."

Theo gives a sad smile and sits on the edge of my bed.

"Are you nervous about the game?"

"No." He couldn't be further from the truth. "I'm just feeling down."

Theo plays with his sweater's sleeve, probably thinking about what to say. I see his face break into a smile and I look at him in confusion as he gets up from the bed.

"What?"

"It's raining outside."

"I've noticed."

"Get up."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Why?"

"We can complete another point on the list."

I look at him with a frown.

"Dancing in the rain, remember?"

"I don't really feel like it."

"Come on. If you don't get up I will do it alone."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Watch me."

Theo leaves the room, I pay attention to the sounds he makes and hear the backdoor open, then some music starts playing.

"I'm doing it. I'm dancing in the rain. All alone."

"I'm not going!" I scream back.

"Yes you are."
