Finally we land, I wake Bella by poking her repeatedly. She is not exactly a happy camper right now. She was frowning at the rain, like she expected something different. Personally I find that funny. We walk to the baggage claim, and after a lot of toe tapping (much to Bella's annoyance) we retrieve our bags. We head to the parking lot to look for Charlie. It didn't take long, it was not hard to spot the police cruiser with an awkward looking Charlie leaning against it. We walk over to him and he gives us a smile.

"Hi girls!" He greets us, still awkwardly, Charlie is not the best with reunions. "Good to see you Bella, Myla" He says, giving each of us a hug. We load our luggage into the back of his car and start the hour drive from the airport to Forks. In my opinion Forks is an over-sized puddle. I like it, but it's very wet. Not exactly the best thing for clumsy Bella over here. I am stuck in the back of the cruiser, I always hated riding back here, but Bella always got in the front seat. No one makes any attempt at conversation, so I stare at the green blur of trees, lost in thought.

Eventually we pulled into the driveway. The little house had not changed at all. I was not sure if that was a good thing. Charlie helped us take our stuff to our rooms, which were exactly the same. The only changes were the beds and desks, now equipped with computers at the request of Mom. Charlie didn't hover, one of my favorite things about him. I unpacked my stuff, putting it in the exact place I wanted it. I could be quite meticulous about these things. While I was doing this I heard Charlie's old friend Billy and his son Jacob stop by outside, talking, something about a truck. Charlie knew better than to call me out when I was busy doing something like this. I had to leave before I was finished, much to my annoyance. It appeared Billy and Jacob had dropped off an old obnoxious truck that Bella was in love with. It turned out okay, because we went to the diner for dinner. I took it that Charlie ate here a lot, because the waitress knew his order by heart. It was kinda weird. I ordered a burger and fries, complete with ice cream for dessert. We got back around seven, and I finished unpacking. It was about nine when I was done so I went to bed, falling asleep to the pounding rain.

I woke up to Bella shaking me.

"Myla, come one! We're going to be late!" I groaned. She shook me harder.

"Fine, I'm up!" I snap, I was not exactly what you would call a morning person. I got up and around wanting my first day to be over. I was a freshman this year. I was not looking forward to all the introductions. At least Bella was there to get swarmed too. I could easily slip away, I was good at that. I crammed some toast down my throat, washed it down with juice, and climbed into the rust bucket of Bella's truck. Charlie had given it to her as a gift yesterday. He had bought it off of Billy Black. His son Jacob and I used to hang out together all of the time, I was glad to see him again. He seemed to take a special liking to Bella though. It was kind of funny. I was slightly worried about the truck's ability to stay together after reaching 15 miles per hour. I was consumed by these thoughts as we drove to school. There we signed in with a red-headed receptionist, got our schedules and headed to class. We were ambushed by a boy called Eric on the way to class. He said he wanted to do a story on us for the school newspaper. I shut down that idea quickly, he didn't seem to be a fan of me after that. I couldn't care less. I really didn't need to be liked, just not hated. Actually it was fine if I was hated because I could take it just about as well as I could dish it. I walked into English seconds before the bell rang. Lucky for me the teacher didn't seem to be in any hurry to start his lecture. I got my slip signed and sent a seat in the back corner, near a girl who introduced herself as Wren. I liked her immediately, which was a rare thing indeed. I sat through a lecture of things I already knew. When we got out of class I walked with Wren to geometry. We talked and when we got there I got my slip signed and sent to my seat. I continued this routine until lunch, where I sat with Wren and her friends. I don't remember their names. They were all fine. The rest of the day continues the same as the morning part. When the final bell rang I found Bella and we returned our slips. I noticed something was up with her. When we got into the office there was a boy with pale skin and perfect features arguing with the receptionist. When Bella saw him she froze. I figured he was the reason for her strange behavior. He turned slowly to face us. He glared at Bella, then spun and spoke to the receptionist and left. I just about followed him to tell him off for being mean to Bella, but she grabbed my wrist. We returned our slips and went to the truck, the ride home was completed in painfully awkward silence, but it was not hard to tell Bella was blinking back tears. Long story short, this day was a complete bore.
