By the time we arrived at the Cullen house my hair was a disaster. Emmett seemed to find it funny to run through the tree branches rather than around them. As a result I now had an assortment of twigs and leaves in my hair, and I was more than a little bruised from hitting branches at breakneck speed. Emmett was laughing heartily when he set me down, only for the laughter to die in his throat when he caught sight of my murderous looks. If looks could kill he would most definitely be double dead, and judging by the look on his face he knew it too. I could not hold my glare with him for long, the golden eyes still freaked me out a little. I didn't even speak as I brushed past him, making sure to step on his feet. I knew it would not hurt him in the slightest, but the intent was there. I had to think of a plan to exact my revenge. Emmett seemed nervous, I am sure he had never seen me in my scheming mad mood. The house was bright and airy. As soon as I stepped in I was bombarded by the pixie like Alice. She was talking very quickly about something, and I kinda tuned her out. She abruptly snatched my wrist and began dragging me around the house. From what I could gather was that she was taking me on a tour. The Cullen house was huge. It was also beautifully decorated by the girls in the family with the help from Edward and Carlisle. That did not surprise me. To me Edward seems as though he would enjoy doing that and having control over how things turned out. Carlisle just seemed nice. Which is more than I can say for half the idiots in this family. Alice continued to drag me around until we got into a library looking room that appeared to be a study. She suddenly froze, and her eyes glazed over. This lasted for about five seconds, then her face split into a huge grin.

"Wait here." She told me before dashing off to who knows where. I was left standing alone in Carlisle's massive study. My eyes appraised the books on the wall. I was never much of a reader, but a few particularly old books caught my eye. I wandered over to them, having nothing better to do. The covers were old and worn. It looked as though it should be in a different language, but surprisingly it was in English. As I thumbed through the pages I could tell that it was about an old coven of vampires from Italy called the Volturi. They seemed to be some sort of supreme form with three kings called Marcus Caius and Aro. They each had pictures next to their names. The pictures, of course, were very faded paintings, but the one thing about them that was still bright was their burgundy eyes. The door opened and I whirled around, Jasper was standing in the doorway. I hastily shoved the book back into place on the shelf.

"Alice said she left you here." He stated. I was not quite sure what I was supposed to say to that. "She wanted me to..." Suddenly he trailed off, as though listening to something. He probably was. I was intrigued now. What did she want him to do that had to do with me?

"She wanted you to what?" I prompted, but he not very smoothly changed the subject.

"What were you looking at?" He questioned.

"A book." I deadpanned.

"What was it about?" He prompted.

"I'm not sure." I lied, not really wanting to start a conversation. He sighed, muttering something under his breath. "What was that?" I asked, feeling quite offended for reasons I am unsure of. He smiled at me.

"I was just acknowledging that fact that Alice was right once again." He chuckled.

"About what?" I wondered.

"Never mind that." He said. A look of concentration flitted across his face, then suddenly, I felt an overwhelming curiosity about him. I would never want to know about him normally, so why did I want to now? I vaguely remembered someone mentioning that Jasper had influence over emotions. I tried my hardest to push the curious thoughts out of my head. Jasper's face once again twisted in concentration, and the urge came back stronger than before. Before I could stop myself I blurted out,

"What is your backstory?" He smiled in a pained sort of way, as though he hated to talk about it, but knew he had to. Then he waved me over to the couch in the study, and told me his story.

To my great surprise I was transfixed. His story was very interesting, and very violent. He had been a major in the Confederate army during the Civil War period, and a newborn army commander after. He was an impeccable fighter, and I made him promise to teach me some things. Unfortunately we were interrupted by some Pixie after about an hour.

"Myla, Bella is coming to play baseball with us, do you want to come?" She posed it as a question, but she seemed to already know the answer. I did too. I had to go, because I did not trust Edweirdo at all, especially not with my sister. I heaved a deep sigh.

"I guess."

"No one's making you." Said a high voice from the door. I looked up and saw the beautiful Rosalie. I did not like her at all.

"On the contrary, I feel rather obligated to go. Who's to say you won't suck my sister dry?" I responded in a matter of fact voice.

"What are you, a human, going to do about it if we do?" She asked with a sneer. I thought for a second. What was I going to do? I knew I could do something.

"I don't know yet. But I pray for your sake that you never have to find out." I sassed back. Ah, threats. Always there when you need them. She simply turned on her heel and strutted out, apparently done with the conversation. I simply looked at Alice and Jasper unsure of what to do. I quickly decided I did not like looking to them for help and shrugged my shoulders, marching out of the room with no purpose in mind. Luckily Bella quickly solved that problem for me. She met me at the staircase explaining that we were going back to Charlie's house to get ready for the game, and for Edward to be formally introduced to Charlie as Bella's boyfriend. Whatever good mood I had vanished. I still did not like him at all. I feel like it should be common sense that the Chief of Police's daughter should not date an 1900s seriel killer. Some people seemed to lack this skill, unfortunately my sister was one of them. I mean I loved her and all, but she was way too controlled by her feelings. If she was rational she would have just ignored the angry weirdo in Biology and moved on with her life. But unfortunately, that is not what happened, so there is no point in thinking of ways the past could have been better. What will happen will happen, and we just have to be ready to face it when the time comes. These were my thoughts as I sat in the metal contraption Bella referred to as a truck. I was just glad that Edward was finally leaving Bella alone for five minutes. No doubt he would be at Charlie's house as soon as he could without it seeming suspicious. Although, him being the creep he is, he will probably just chill out in Bella's room. I wonder what Charlie would say if he knew Edward was watching Bella sleep at night. The thought made me smile. We pulled into Charlie's drive and I slunk upstairs in hope that they would forget my existence and not make me spend any more time with Edwerido than absolutely necessary. Usually I would have loved to watch Charlie's utter astonishment when Bella announced that she was bringing her boyfriend, who she had mentioned nothing about, home to meet him. Unfortunately my plan did not work, because Charlie was soon hollering my name up the stairs to come wait with him for Bella's boyfriend. Scowling I stomped down the stairs and fixed him with an icy glare. Bella had gone out to retrieve Edward and probably give him a word of warning.

"Hey, if I have to do this, so do you." Charlie said, seeing my glower. "You know him, is he decent?" Charlie inquired hurriedly.

"I personally don't like him, but I guess he is decent, and Bella likes him." It was a vague response, but I was not going to say anything more. I am sure Bella would not like it if I talked trash about her vampire boyfriend, but I was not going to lie and say I love him. I don't. Not even close. Nonetheless, I took a deep breath and willed myself to be calm and not snap as I watched the door handle turn and Bella and Edward enter.
