The house was empty when I got in. I vaguely remember Bella saying something about hanging out with friends possibly at a beach. I'm not sure, I wasn't really paying all that close attention. Charlie was most likely at work. I spent the evening doing very little. I could say nothing, but that would mean I was dead. Anyway, I just pondered over the day and what had happened. I had gotten confirmation on my theories, and so far I was not getting killed for knowing too much. I had to find some way to warn Bella. I didn't want to tell her in fear of her getting into trouble. Maybe I could just warn her. I had no intention of protecting the Cullen's secret, but I did not want something to happen to Bella because of it. I have no clue what I am doing anymore. I know what I have to do, just not how. I have to make sure Bella and Charlie both stay safe, but they can not know. Why can't they know? I don't know. I mean obviously humans are not supposed to know of the supernatural world, because no one does know. I don't know what the punishment is, or who enforces it, but I would rather not meet them. Bella is currently infatuated with Edward the vampire, who acts way too weird around her. There is no way she is safe around him. Then there is Charlie, he hangs out with Billy Black and Harry Clearwater all the time. If the Cold Ones exist I assume the werewolves do too. If that is true Charlie is hanging with them all the time. In the stories they are the good guys, but they are dangerous nonetheless. I know Charlie is an adult and can take care of himself, but how can he protect himself from something that he doesn't even know exists. The answer is he can't, I mean he might if he had enough time, but I doubt the wolf is going to sit there and wait for him to come up with a plan to kill it. All in all it was an incredibly dangerous town. It is weird that no one had noticed anything strange in this little town. I mean there are literally two different mythical creatures who are supposedly enemies living right under their noses and no one has noticed anything? How dense can people be? Well, it doesn't matter. Bella walked in the door. She seemed a little surprised to see me just sitting on the couch, staring at a blank tv, but recovered quickly.
"What are you doing?" She asked me.
"Thinking." Was all that I replied.
"About..." She prompted. I debated warning her, but did not feel like it. Why was she so nosy?
"None of your business." I snapped. She put up her hands in surrender and started toward her bedroom. After she disappeared up the stairs I got up and followed but headed to my own room instead. I was slightly confused. Usually Bella would not just leave the conversation at that. Unless something was wrong. She had been hanging around La Push today. What if something happened? What if she found out? I decided to look into it. I drug myself from the comfort of my room and ventured across the hall to hers. I entered without knocking, making her look up from her computer, startled.
"Ever heard of knocking?" She asked me.
"Nope. What are you up to?" I asked. She rolled her eyes at me.
"Nothing."
"That's code for something. What are you looking up?" I asked.
"None of your business." She told me.
"Recycled words. How creative." I rolled my eyes.
"Have you noticed anything weird about the Cullens?" She asked. Uh-oh.
"Everything. But Bella, stay away from them, they're bad news." I warned her.
"What do you know about them?" She pried.
"'Dunno, they are pale, weird, and look like models." I said generically. "Why?" I prompted.
"No reason." she said quickly, too quickly.
"Correction, no reason that you'll tell me." I drawled.
"I just heard a story, that's all." She said.
"From who?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.
"Jacob." She said softly, as if she was embarrassed. Great. Well, I'm done.
"Probably some stupid bedtime story. Billy used to tell those all the time. Speaking of bed, I would like to go there. Goodnight." I told her.
"Myla, It's 6-o'clock." She said looking at me funny.
"It is never too early to sleep." I informed her, and walked out.
