In the warmth of the Chant kitchen, Andante was focusing on his Portus spells. He had a row of five golden charms spread out on the table, all shaped into tiny apples. Each charm was laid on an individual velvet cloth. Andante closed his eyes, murmuring "Portus" and tapping firmly on each charm. The apple-shaped trinkets jumped a little at the touch of his wand.

When he opened his eyes, his daughter was staring eagerly at the newly-made Portkeys spread out on the table. She was giving him an excited grin.

Andante gestured to the Portkeys. Allegra slid into the table across from her father and began carefully tying up each apple-shaped charm, tying the pouches shut with a ribbon.

Andante gathered the charms in his hand. With an arm around his daughter, they headed out into the orchard, where the pouches were handed off to five waiting owls, waving the birds goodbye. A beaming Allegra threw her arms around her father. He laughed, patting her on the back. Crescenda's voice rang out from the kitchen. With a smile, Allegra ran over to her mother, chattering excitedly. The coming afternoon felt so far away.

Poppy Sweeting received the Portkey while she was helping her gran organize her research papers. When the owl dropped it neatly at her feet, Poppy squealed and ran to her room. She pulled out her only suitcase from underneath her bed, cleaned it with a Scourgify, and buzzed around their house finding things to pack. She carefully avoided the Kneazle and Puffskeins darting around her feet. As she rushed around, Poppy's Gran brought a tin of cookies for her to give to her host family. She laughed as her granddaughter excitedly proclaimed that she was going to see Europe.

Natsai Onai's Portkey found her while her mother was working a braid into her hair. She smiled and nearly got to her feet, but Mudiwa Onai pulled her back to her seat and told her she wasn't done. Groaning, Natsai impatiently tapped her fingers while her mother weaved intricate designs into her hair, amused by her daughter's excitement. Natty nearly flew of the seat as soon as she was finished. She dressed, hauling a suitcase and a wrapped present for the Chants under her arm. With a kiss to her mother's cheek, Natsai Onai undid the ribbon on the pouch.

Garreth Weasley's owl hit him in the face.

He was outside playing Quidditch with his siblings, throwing around worn balls and riding on equally-worn brooms. Carrying a Quaffle under his arm, Garreth barely had time to react to his siblings' warnings before he was met with a face full of feathers. He nearly opened the pouch then and there. Luckily for him, Garreth's older brother snatched the pouch from his hands, called him and idiot, and asked him if he was packed. Realization dawned on him. Garreth gasped, grabbed the pouch back, and ran inside, calling for his mother and asking if she'd seen his suitcase. There was a loud slam as Garreth ran up to his room. Matilda Weasley, who had been visiting for breakfast, shared an exasperated look with her sister-in-law.

Sirona received Sebastian's pouch for him. She chirped to a customer that the boy was going on vacation for two weeks and that she'd sorely miss the help. The barmaid then proceeded to bellow Sebastian's name in a well-practiced shout, earning her an equally-loud reply from somewhere in the kitchens. Sebastian, cheeks stained with flour, beamed at the sight of the velvet pouch. He slipped his apron over his head and ran upstairs to pack his things.

When he returned, bag slung over his shoulder, Sirona was leaning proudly over a travel-sized keg of Butterbeer. His jaw dropped. He told Sirona there was no way he was lugging that all the way to Italy.

Sirona only slapped the keg with a hand and fixed him a look. Sighing, Sebastian hoisted the keg over his shoulder and fumbled with the pouch. Then he gave Sirona a kiss on the cheek, making the barmaid fondly roll her eyes.
