In Port Orange, where the salt breeze sings,
I found a refuge, where new life begins.
Beneath Florida skies, azure and wide,
I left shadows of the city, and heartache behind.

My father's absence, a void so vast,
A silent echo of a distant past.
Hearts once full, now tender, sore,
In the waves' whispers, I seek something more.

New York's towering spires fade from view,
Their bustling hum replaced by a tranquil blue.
Mom stayed behind, in the city's embrace,
Her memories held tight, in that hurried pace.

Here, in Port Orange, the sunsets bleed,
A canvas of healing for a soul in need.
The warmth of the sun, the lull of the sea,
A gentle reminder of who I can be.

Streets lined with palms, and skies so clear,
A fresh chapter starts, though the pain is near.
In every sunrise, I find a new dawn,
A chance to rebuild, to carry on.

Mom's love, though distant, remains so strong,
Her courage, her strength, in my heart belong.
In this quiet town, by the ocean's side,
I learn to navigate the ebbing tide.

With each step forward, I honor the past,
In Port Orange's embrace, I find peace at last.
Though grief and change weave a complex song,
In this place,  kind of felt like I belong.
