HELLO! Thank you for reading! It's been a while since I wrote a oneshot. Medyo nangapa ako so please bare with me.

"I vow to always be there."
"Babe? Nasan ka?" I said as I fixed the dinner table for the nth time tonight. Hinipo ko ang pagkain namin. Naku mukhang hindi na mainit, initin ko kaya muna?
"Babe?" Nang sumagot si Lea ay napangiti ako. I miss her, she's been so caught up with work recently. We haven't had much time together.
"Babe! Anong oras ang uwi mo?" I said as I glanced at the wall clock. Almost 8PM na rin, kung nasa pinas kami aba late na. Pero, New York is different, maaga pa ang alas otso.
"Uh, hindi ko alam Reg eh. I'll update you nalang." I heard some people talking in the background, some metals clinking and fabrics ripping. Mukhang hindi pa tapos ang rehearsal.
"Okay, I'll wait for you." I said not minding that she didn't call me babe. Baka pagod lang.
"Okay bye." Before I could say I love you the call ended. Napako sa ere ang akmang pagsasalita ko. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako as I placed my phone on the table and grabbed the food I cooked earlier.
Mamaya ko nalang 'to initin mga quarter to 10. Mukhang busy pa si Lea eh.
Seconds turned to minutes and minutes to hours. Until our old grandfather clock chimmed. It's 12 o'clock. She didn't come home.
"I vow that I will always understand you."
"Ma sorry hindi kami makaka-uwi ngayong pasko." I said as I continued washing the dishes. "Bakit?" Tanong nito. Inipit ko ng maigi ang telepono sa leeg at balikat ko para maka usap ko siya habang naghuhugas ng pinggan.
"Ano kasi ma, mejo may misunderstanding kase kami ni Lea about the schedule. Akala daw kase niya next year pa uwi namin. Hindi kami nagkaintindihan sa flight, mejo puno din kase schedule niya sa December kay di talaga namin masingit." Pagpapaliwanag ko habang nagsasabon ng pinggan. Narinig ko naman ang mahabang buntong hininga ni mama.
"Ikaw ba Regine ay may boses pa sa relasyon niyo." Nang sabihin niya iyon ay napakunot ako ng nuo. I chuckled a bit before answering.
"Oo naman ma!" I exclamed still rubbing the dirty dish.
"Eh kase, simula nang mag asawa kayo ni Lea parang naging sunod-sunuran ka nalang sa kanya eh." Sabi nito kaya napa tigil ako sa ginagawa ko.
"Ma naman!" Sabi ko as I took off my gloves. Hinawakan ko ang cellphone at umakyat sa taas. May labahin pa ako.
"Anong ma naman? Eh totoo naman eh. Lagi nalang ikaw ang nag-aadjust para sa kanya. Kelan ba yung huling beses na ikaw ang nasunod." I stopped walking and blinked a couple of times. Natameme ako sa sinabi ni mama.
"Regina tapatin mo nga ako. Asawa pa ba ang tingin sayo ni Lea o personal assistant?" Tanong nito. A tear fell from my eye as I closed my eyes tightly before answering.
"Ma, hindi ganun si Lea. Kilala mo naman siya diba?" I said at tumikhim bago pa ako pumiyok.
"Noon kilala ko siya, ewan ko nalang ngayon." She said and ended the call. I was left flabbergasted and crying.
