"There is light at end of the tunnel"
A couple of months ago:
Sitting on the bus Samantha Clarkson looked to her kids who was finally asleep and finally she could finally cry silently, her biological mother had been cruel by kicking her out, knowing she had nowhere to go, knowing she had no funds to her name, knowing that she had just started her transcript career, then again her mother had always been a cruel person and Samantha would always just cover it up.
The long winding dark road was like her life, the light was too far away for her to even see but she knew it was there, why did she choose this way of earning an income?
It was because of her children, her daughter Charmaine a dusty blonde haired, brown eyed seven-year-old girl who held the beauty of her mother's father's line, a child born from her grandmother's wishes one that Samantha had complied with at the time with a heavy heart.
While her blue eyed, blonde five-year-old son who was in her words special even though he did not share the gene that made them beautiful, Charls is autistic along with pulmonary stenosis, a separate father one that manipulated Samantha along with her own mother.
Never less looking at her children she would not in her wildest dreams give them up for anyone not even for her own mother, they gave her the strength to head on this journey, to become her own person, who that was Samantha had yet to figure it out but even with a broken heart she was willing to find out for herself and for the sake of her children.
Living in South Africa is hard sure in many countries many have it harder as well and looking back it was Samantha's compassion that she understood but now with a son who needed special attention and care she finally understood.
Her home country did not cater to single non-working parents nor did they truly cater to special needs children, the social grants was not even enough to cover the most basic necessities either and this was her problem, many profited off of the special needs children while hiding behind "we are a nonprofit organization" as long as they lined their pockets and the pockets of those covering for them people like her could do nothing but watch helplessly.
However, this did not deter her as she herself took in on herself learning everything that she could to improve her son's way of life where most parents that she had been in contact with complained at the complicated situation, she herself did not find it hard at all. Samantha was not known for her patience to anyone nor her soft demeanor and yet when they saw her with either son or daughter they saw a different side to her all together this is why when it came to those that were close to her when hearing that her own mother kicked her out for choosing her children above her and that she was moving away it did not surprise them in the least, to them she was a good mother, someone who saw the positive even in the negative situations, where many sought help with their own she grew with her own children learning their limitations first hand and gently pushing them over that too far exceed the expectations of kids with their unique situations.
Thinking back on it all Samantha gave a watery smile to her reflection before looking at her phone, it had long pass not being able to pick up signal but still she hoped for a weakest link just to let her friends know that they were still fine.
Samantha then laid back as her son snuggled up to her and stared up at the darkness.
"Let this work out, not only for me but for them"
The heaviness of sleep and stress finally descended and placed her in a dreamless sleep. It was a couple of hours later that she was woken with a jolt, the bus had stopped for gas and its passengers awoke from the same jolt as they exited to stretch their limbs and to enter the store to get breakfast as the soft glow of the summer sun began to brighten bringing about a new day with secret possibilities one could discover.
