A poke against your legs, accompanied by Ling-ling's frantic meows, ripped you from the clutches of sleep. Hazily, ou cracked open an eye, your vision adjusting to the soft glow of the room. You saw your girlfriend standing beside the bed with a wide grin plastered across her face. But what truly caught your attention was what she held in her hands a cake, its surface adorned with flickering candles.

Your brow furrowed in confusion. As far as you were aware, today wasn't your birthday, was it? Yet, Aiah held a cake, a lively twinkle dancing in her eyes.

"Happy birthday!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. Before you could even process this unexpected greeting, a chorus of cheers erupted from behind her. Squinting through sleep-laden eyes, you saw a familiar group of faces – the BINI girls and your bandmates. A groan escaped your lips as you realized you were probably caught in a state of utter disarray.

"Oh my god, guys," you mumbled, reaching up to scratch at your sleep-mussed hair. "Kagigising ko lang." You could practically feel the heat rise in your cheeks as you noticed everyone holding their phones, probably recording a video.

A laugh broke out from the back of the room. "Don't worry about it, Y/N," Stacey said, her voice laced with laughter. "Sanay na kami na makitang duyot ka." She continued earned a chorus of chuckles from your friends, you to roll your eyes playfully at her teasing.

Aiah nudged the cake closer with a playful shove. "Come on, love. Blow out the candles!"

Just as you leaned forward a hand shot out, landing squarely on your mouth.

"Oops. Wish muna," Maloi chirped. She swiftly removed her hand, then proceeded to wipe it on her shirt, leaving you feeling a bit offended.

"Birthday ko ba talaga?" you questioned. "Kasi feel ko pinagttripan niyo lang ako."

Donny piped up from the corner. "Oh, shut up," he said, a smile playing on his lips. "Pasalamat ka nga binilhan pa kita ng cake."

"Wow, thank you ha," you respond sarcastically, rolling your eyes at his gruff demeanor.

Colet stepped in impatiently. "Wag na kayo mag away" she said, her voice firm but gentle. "MAg wish ka na lang, Y/N at hipan mo na yung kandila."

Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes. A silent wish formed in your heart.

I am already happy with my life. Ang wish ko na lang ay don't take this away from me.

As the cheers subsided and the last flicker of candlelight died down, you noticed Ling-ling batting at a box tucked away in the corner. You stretched, pushing yourself off the bed, and your friends, sensing the moment was over, began to file out of the room, leaving you alone with Aiah.

Curious, you padded towards Ling-ling, who was now swatting at the box with renewed vigor. "What's in there, buddy?" you asked, kneeling down to scratch behind the cat's ears.

Before Ling-ling could offer a reply as if he will, Aiah's voice cut in. "My present for you," she said, her eyes sparkling with delight.

"Present? Di naman need non," you protested, a warm feeling blooming in your chest.

"I wanted to, eh" she countered with a shrug and a sweet smile.

You scooped Ling-ling into your arms and reached for the box, surprised by its unexpected weight. You glanced back at Aiah, a question hanging in the air.

"Open it," she urged, her smile widening.

With a roll of your eyes, you pried open the cardboard lid. And there, staring back at you with wide, curious eyes, was a fluffy golden retriever puppy. A tiny birthday hat perched precariously on its head.
