"Aga, ah?"
Bungad iyon ng guard namin nang makita akong papasok ng building. It's not yet time for our exams but I came here about 6 hours early. Sumabay kasi ako kay Jade. She came in first, though. Nag-park pa kasi ako ng motor. She didn't wait for me since she said she wanted to come inside 30 minutes early to review.
"D'yan na ako sa office magr-review," sabi ko naman. "Nag-kape ka na, 'ya?" I asked him. It's still early so I think I'll need coffee, might as well have coffee with him, tutal mukhang wala pa naman siyang gagawin dahil pumasok na lahat ng estudyante.
"Hindi pa nga, e," he answered.
"Kape tayo," aya ko. He just agreed and offered to buy coffee powder from the nearest store.
Pagkatapos niyang bumili ay ako na ang nagtimpla. Tumambay pa kami sa garden para roon magkape dahil mahangin. We talked about a few school-related stuffs.
After finishing my coffee, I excused myself to go to the library and review. I spent a few hours there before leaving to roam around the campus. Just making sure that nothing unpleasant is happening during exams. Joke, gusto ko lang umikot para makita siya.
Everything is going well during exams since our teachers are strict proctors. Nang walang mapuna ay dumiretso na lang ako sa office. Baka nando'n na rin sila Haley, makikipag-k'wentuhan muna ako.
Wala pa ring tao sa office pagkabalik ko kaya nag-review muna ako. After feeling satisfied with what I was reading, umidlip muna ako dahil wala na akong magawa. Tinatamad rin akong maglaro dahil medyo masakit na ang ulo ko.
Not so long after, I felt someone tapping my shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Zen.
"Kakain na," she said. Inilibot ko ang paningin ko at napagtantong narito pala lahat ng student council officers. Nakahanda na rin ang lunch at halos lahat sila, may mga hawak na reviewers.
"Alin diyan 'yong lunch? Pagkain o reviewers?" pabirong tanong ko. Tumayo naman ako at nag-inat nang kaunti. Akala ko umidlip lang ako, tuluyan na pala akong nakatulog.
"Both," sagot ni Rhian na halos isubsob na ang mukha sa reviewer niya.
Natawa naman si Jeff. "Pangit pala humor ng mga bagong gising."
Umupo na ako at sinabihan silang mag-umpisa nang kumain. Nakakagutom matulog.
After eating, I left the office to wait for Jade's exams to finish. I messaged her to meet me at the garden. Gusto ko siyang kumustahin tungkol sa exams. We'll never know if she'll feel bad about her performance today. The least I can do for now is to be her human diary.
"Hi!" I excitedly waved upon seeing her. She looked down, though.
Bagsak ang balikat nitong lumapit sa akin para yumakap. I welcomed her and tapped her back to comfort her. "What happened?"
"I think, I did bad," she uttered, perhaps, in the verge of crying.
"You studied well, trust yourself. Whatever the result will be, proud pa rin naman kami sa 'yo, e." I don't know if those words will comfort her. I just told her what's on my mind.
"And if my parents will not be proud?" she asked.
"Let's not expect things like that."
"Alright," she said, separating from me.
"Gan'to na lang. I'm sure you're tired from studying, so go home and get plenty of rest, okay? I'll treat you ice cream kapag nakauwi na ako. Okay ba?" I asked with a wide smile.
"Okay! I'll look forward to that, ah."
I nodded before giving her a peck on the top of her head. "Gotta go. I'll see you after school."
